Re: August Buddies!
I have the same arnica and read the 7 day part just now. Maybe I'll start them nearer the time then...
The sloggi vest sounds good, I'll check that out tomorrow. He said he doesn't like too much restriction which I do see his point on. When you have sore skin, bruising etc the last thing I'd want is a really tight top irritating me! The crop top just protects them I guess... I am building up a collection of tops/sports bras so I'll see what feels best as the days go on.
Just making the most of going to the gym and not being in pain at the mo, I'm dreading being banned from exercise for weeks!!! I have a bikini to get into in October.... Oh dear! Ha! X

Hi Stokesy,
Your time will come round soon. Each day your ticker factory thingy moves along and before you know it you'll have new booooobs .
Were you told by your sugeon to wear sports bras after the op?. I forgotto ask mine but another girl who's having same surgeon was told to wear crop tops. I'm going to call the secretary on Monday just to confirm but i bought a couple of Sloggi crop tops yesterday from Debenhams. They're very comfy.
Soooooo excited now!.

Hi Lucy,
Wow a bikini in October??, you'll look fab with your new boobs. Where are you going?. My next summer holiday after my op will be unfortunately next year. I'm going to Lapland in Decemeber but doubt i'll be showing them off there!! haha.
I've seen those tops in Peacocks, they look great and just for a fiver, you cannot go wrong hey?.
I've bought two Sloggi crop tops from Debenhams in the end, one each in black and white. They're very comfy and not too restrictive. Have you bought a V pillow for sleeping with?. Lots on here have them although i've got a similar pillow from when i was pregnant, might just try that first.

Off to Miami - the land of boob jobs! Ha!! You could be the first lady in Lapland to wear a bikini ;-) who needs woolly hats and scarves when you have new boobies!
So what size Sloggi tops did you get? I'm puzzled because Mr Carver couldn't really tell me what size I'll be?! I looked in town yesterday and found some suitable tops but really didn't know what size?!? That's why I got the cheapo Peacocks ones in a massive size because they aren't very generous on the size front but are very stretchy...
I picked up a V pillow on Friday from Dunelm for £10 so I'm hoping that will help. I'm also trying to discipline myself at night to sleep on my back because I love sleeping on my front but that's all about to change. :-(
Only 2 wks to go now and I'm having massive attack of the nerves, can't believe I'm paying to have pain inflicted on me!! Please let me have a smooth op with minimum pain. Sharron at HH said it's all fine and not that bad - maybe I'll sue her if it's bad! Ha! X x

Miami sounds great- well jel!!!. haha. The Sloggi tops come in back size so you don't need to worry about cup size as they will stretch to accomodate your assets!. That's why i bought them as trying to decide what cup size to get is just a guess and you don't want to be wasting money. I bought 34 as Mr Carver measured me as 32 but i've always worn 34. If it feels too tight with the swelling i'll just get my mum or sister to get me the 36 too but they are quite stretchy.
Did Mr Carver say what you'd be wearing straight after surgery?.

miss flump wrote:Hi everyone,
I am 33 years old and from Liverpool. I had gastric band surgery 2 1/2 years ago and I have lost 9 stone. I was 18 stone 10 lbs and now weigh just under 10 stone. I am 5 ' 11" tall.
I've always had little boobs, even when I was big. I barely filled a B cup!! I am now about a 32 AA / A.
Anyhow, I am booked in for a boob job, uplift and tummy tuck on 11th August. I can't wait.
My surgeon will be Dr Liew at Spire Liverpool, which is 5 mins from my house in the car. I will be in hospital for 2 nights.
As I have hardly any breast tissue, my surgeon is going partially under the muscle with a teardrop implant and I will be a C cup. I mentioned that I would like to be a D, but this might look too much as I am very slim now. I can't wait to have bigger, nice shaped boobs for the first time in my life.
Looking forward to counting down the days with you all!!

Hi Nicki,
No I wasn't told about what to wear post-surgery so I'm just going to take jogging bottoms, vests and a zip up jumper I think. I am going to call Sharron tomorrow and get full details, I like to be fully prepared!!
Let me know if you hear anything helpful...

Hi Lucy,
Yes i'm going to call Sharon tomorrow too. When i asked what you'd wear straight after i meant on your boobs, not clothing! ......
Do they put you in a surgical bra/bandage type thing or will we put one of our crop tops on????. I hope Sharon will know, i'm sure she will.
As for clothing, i'll be taking leggings, vest tops and cardigan. Something easy to put on and take off.
Speak soon and i'll update you with what Sharon says...

Hi Nicki
Thanks for the message. I am really proud of my weightloss, but have felt more rubbish about my body recently than I did beforehand. I'm hopefully looking to boost my self-confidence a bit and judging by what others say about themselves after a boob job, I'm hoping that this might help. The Doctor said I'd be able to wear a bikini, so I'm really intrigued to know what I'll look like after. It's funny, I can't even begin to imagine what my boobs are going to look like for real as I've never really had a pair!
I think I was more nervous about the tummy tuck initially, but he seems to think that will be really straight forward. It's the boobs I'm most worried about now, but no pain, no gain! LOL.
We should definitely keep in touch! I think the support on here is amazing!

My ex partner's friend's wife (are you with me?! haha) had the same as what you'll be having. She lost about 6 stone after having a gastric band and initially she felt fab about herself for losing so much weight but after a while she in fact felt worse due to her excess skin on her tummy and no boobs. With the support of her hubby she had a tummy tuck, BA and lipo. Today she looks and feels great. The only thing she regrets is not getting it all done sooner.
You'll love the new you. How exciting.......

That's a great story. I've done so much research on the surgeries, but there's not a lot to be found about the psychological benefits.
How are you feeling about your surgery? How do you think it'll make you feel afterwards?

Re: August Buddies!
I'm pretty sure that having this done will make me feel much better about myself. I have never been happy with my small bust and always contemplated surgery but i was never really in a position to get it done. After having two children, i absolutely hated my bust and since plucking up the courage to leave my partner (was very unhappy), i decided to do this for myself. My family and friends are all very supportive so i am very lucky.
In relation to psychological benefits, i think that you've got to look at the reasons as to why you're having surgery. I just know that i will feel more confident about myself and that can only be a good thing. Especially as i'm now free and single again! haha

Hi Nicki,
Just found out that they strap us up so won't be wearing any bra/crop top after the op. She said to just bring comfy stuff like a vest etc so that's good! Apparently Mr Carver has ordered in lots of styles and sizes for me so Im pleased I have a bit of choice rather than him telling me what to have.
Still puzzled as to what size I'll be if they use a 315 on my current DD. Any ideas girls who have more knowledge of sizing than me? Im hoping for a full E - F?!
Thanks x

I'm hoping that the 15th August is long enough...only time will tell. I'm currently an empty 30c/32b wahhh, going with Stephen Hamilton, Mybreast, in St Johns Wood. xxx
yay!!! congrats on booking! i think you'll be fine for your opera auditions, i'm having mine 10th august and going to butlins 16th september for an 18-30s weekend so if i can get drunk, sing, shout, crawl home, then i'm sure you'll be healed and ready

Thanks for you message hun!,
Yep i just phoned Holly House too and she told me exactly the same as you!. No need to worry about bras for a good week she said (so by the time we need one we can probably go shopping ourselves). Mr Carver doesn't use drains, he just bandages the incisions up. He has also ordered lots of different sizes for me too- sooooooooe excited now!.
Jane said that i will receive my admission letter one week before the op and the likely admission time will be 7am.
Trying to guess what size we'll be is a nightmare hey? but also quite exciting. Jane said that i can discuss with Mr Carver on the morning of the op what the minimum size is that i want to be and he will make sure i at least achieve the size if not more!! haha

Hi Nicki,
It's do nice to speak to someone that is having the same surgeon etc as me. Also pleased we don't have drains to contend with... Wonder how the strapping will look under clothes?? Might have to get some baggy work clothes to disguise it somehow... Let's hope it's not scorching that week because I'll look stupid in a roll neck ;-) ha!
Really need to start thinking about sizing as I don't want boobie greed to set in on the day... Ha! Xx

Hi Lucy,
Yes i wonder what this strapping will be like. I've got two weeks off of work after the op so am hoping by the time i go back, i'll be wearing some sort of bra and my usual clothes.
I just hope the recovery and healing goes to plan as i can't take any more time off of work. How about you?, how long are you off of work for.
It is great to talk to you knowing that we're going to the same hospital and having the same surgeon. You're before me so i'll be pestering you after your op for all the details!!.
