Re: August Buddies!
Welcome to all the new August buddies it really is getting sooo close now but I bet these last few weeks drag as we all can't wait it's just over a month for me and I can't stop looking at everyones boobs when I'm out trying to imagine what I will look like and how my clothes will fit I realise I'm doing it and feel like such a perv lol I've got a duaghter who s 10 and really not sure how to explain to her about my BA how have you all coped with this???? I don't want her to start worrying about her body and if she's unlucky like me and doesn't develop much while her friends do I want her to be happy with herself and not worry which I know is something I never managed

Re: August Buddies!
Hi Donna222 ,
I have an 8 y/o and a 5 y/o daughter and I have just told them that I am getting mine fixed after all my years of breastfeeding. It helps that they watched me feed their brother so I guess that doesnt seem to over the top for them to understand. I was worried that they may have hangups but they seem fine ( havent had the BA yet). what Size are you going?

when i was younger my sister had a nose job and my parents told me she had to have an operation because of her sinuses (however you spell it) which i believed up until a few years ago lol. so i think the breast feeding one is a good one x

Re: August Buddies!
thanks that might work she did see me breastfeed my youngest but she is always asking questions and will want to know every detail I don't want to panic her by using words like operation etc I've gotta tell her something though as she'll definitely notice, don't think my 7 year old boy will be a problem he just accepts anything no questions asked lol I'm having either 360 or 400 teardrop partial unders I'm a AA now so hopefully will be about a D after I live in Cyprus so I'm having my op out here are you living in Australia then? is it hot this time of year I'm dreading being bandaged up in this heat x

Re: August Buddies!
Yeah I am in Australia and we are in the middle of winter but where I am winter is beautiful and summer is hot hot hot!
I hope you have a good aircon to keep you cool while you are bandaged. How long will you have to have to bandage on for? I have been told by the Dr that the only thing I will have when I come out of theater is just covers over my incisions. NO drains or bandages, it is something to do with technique he uses. I am having a 255cc low profile teardrop so not to big. I like to run so boobs and running dont mix .I htink your daughter will be fine just have to monitor what she hears when you are talking to other people about your op. Kids and their big ears, they hear everyhting!

Re: August Buddies!
Thats so true I think she's allready heard more than I'd like, i'll only have bandages for 4 day then I get fitted for a sports bra so won't be too bad but we've not got aircon only ceiling fans but it'll be worth it. I think every surgeon have there own theories on how things should be done we just have to accept they know a lot more on the subject than we do and trust them I guess. Just picture all those bikinis you can wear in the sun when it gets to summer I'm all ready looking forward to next summer. I don't do much running but I go horse riding I wonder how long it will take to get my balance back once I have all that extra weight up front lol

Who are you going with this time lolly?
I'm having my pre-op on August 2nd (so 2 weeks and 5 days away) as that will be 13 days before my op and the pre-op must be done within 14 days of the op when you go with MyBreast and Cheltenham Nuffield Hospital.

Re: August Buddies!
Hi everyone,
I am 33 years old and from Liverpool. I had gastric band surgery 2 1/2 years ago and I have lost 9 stone. I was 18 stone 10 lbs and now weigh just under 10 stone. I am 5 ' 11" tall.
I've always had little boobs, even when I was big. I barely filled a B cup!! I am now about a 32 AA / A.
Anyhow, I am booked in for a boob job, uplift and tummy tuck on 11th August. I can't wait.
My surgeon will be Dr Liew at Spire Liverpool, which is 5 mins from my house in the car. I will be in hospital for 2 nights.
As I have hardly any breast tissue, my surgeon is going partially under the muscle with a teardrop implant and I will be a C cup. I mentioned that I would like to be a D, but this might look too much as I am very slim now. I can't wait to have bigger, nice shaped boobs for the first time in my life.
Looking forward to counting down the days with you all!!

Re: August Buddies!
Hi Love2run and Lauraswts,
ooooh so exciting hey?. Going to start a list tonight for what i need to buy before the big day. I have already bought some Bio Oil and Arnica tablets. I swear by Bio Oil. I used it on my tummy/thighs and boobs during both of my pregnancies and did not get any stretchmarks. I'm hoping that this too will prevent them when my boobies grow overnight!!. It's also great to help fade the scars once thay have healed.
Does anyone know roughly how long after the op you can drive?. Forgot to ask that question!.
Anyway keep in touch girls. Woo Hoo!!!

Re: August Buddies!
Hi Laura,
Yes me too. I go back to work exactly 2 weeks after my op and will need to drive. I was hoping that i could drive after the first week as i've got two young children and it will be the 6 week holidays!!. My parents are having them for the first 4 days after my op and then my mum is bringing them back but will stay with me for another couple of days. I've separated for their dad and so don't want him even knowing that i'm having this done! haha.
My stats are; I'm 5ft 7, size 10 and 9st 7. I have quite broad shoulders and my surgeon measured me as 32A or small B. But for years i've been wearing a 34B (never wanted to admit that i was an A i suppose!). I'm having 415cc or 425cc partial unders, teardrops which surgeon says will take me to a full D or DD.. I really hope DD as i think i could carry it off due to my height and build without it looking OTT!.
How about you hun? what's your stats and where are you having your op?. Are you feeling the nerves yet?

Hi Nicki,
I am having Nigel Carver on 30th July and he has recommended the same teardrop shape as you are having. I am also having partial unders but I can't remember what size?!
He was great at putting my mind at ease, he was the second surgeon I had a consultation with; is that why you chose him too?

Re: August Buddies!
Hi Lucy,
Wow you've only got 15 days!, how exciting. I agree with you, Nigel Carver was lovely and really made me feel comfortable. He said that he didn't want me to go too big but at the same time he would give me a lovely ample breast!!. He did make me laugh. He did my friend's BA two years ago and she was so pleased with her result and still is!.
What size are you now and hoping to be?. Did you ask him about sports bras?. I'm not sure if we need to take these to hospital for after the op. I tried calling Sharon his secretary today but she wasn't in. I'm going to call her on Monday. I have not yet received my admission letter as i only paid up in full yesterday.
What time do you have to be there?.
Anyway, keep in touch. I'll be asking you loads after your op as i'm four days after you!.

Re: August Buddies!
Sorry, wrote a post then managed to delete instead of post!
Glad your friend was happy, did she have teardrop too? My boyf came in the consultation with me and we were both really happy to go with Mr Carver, he was professional but informal and I like that he encourages the natural look.
I'm 27, 5ft 9in, 9st and currently wear a DD but I want to fill the top part of my boobs so I feel more confident in a bikini. It leaves me with fewer options because if I had a round shape it might look odd with my existing breast tissue. I certainly trust his opinion and I had 2 consultations.
He told me he doesn't like patients wearing sports bras straight after and instead suggested I get crop tops. I googled it and found a pack of 2 Lycra crop tops in Peacocks for £5 which are seamfree so shouldn't irritate - I bought a big one though to allow for swelling room. Might look for some supportive vest tops to wear.
Will def keep in touch as my op gets closer, it's nice to know we'll be with the same surgeon having the same type of op.
Are you going to take arnica? I'm debating whether to start taking it tomorrow -2 wks till the big day!!

Re: August Buddies!
Hi Lucy,
The Arnica tablets that i have (Nelson's) says to only take for a maximum of seven days. I've also read this on some other threads and it seems a lot of surgeon's advice is to take for 3 days pre op and then the rest post op.
Do you think the Sloggi vest tops would be ok?. The double comfort vest look nice and comfortable (on Figleaves website £11.50) which isn't too expensive in comaprison to some of the sports/post op bras.
Did Mr Carver say why to wear crop tops instead of support bras?.
Yes, lets keep in touch. Over the next two weeks we'll still have lots to ask!.
