can i have a shower on the morning of my op?
i just thought..can i have a shower the morning of my op? also if i wash my hair can i put a serum in it or its going to be one frizzy mess...not that its really going to matter to me, but it may make a difference to the hunky bloke in the bed next to me on my mixed ward i've not been given a list of do's or dont's just having to use my common sense and looking thru posts to see what the other girls have done.

I was told I could have a shower the morning of my op which i did & i stayed in there for ages lol. I washed my hair but was told not to put any deodrant/creams on my skin. I'm not sure about putting things in your hair though hun. I know you want to look good for your man in the next bed xx

Yes shower and hair wash no problem. Some suggest washing with antibacterial soap.. though I dident get advised this. They did advise no nail polish due to medical equipment on fingers. And no make up. I blow dried my hair with normal products, made me feel better in myself, and they put a lovely hat on your head for surgery too. Yo ur doing right to ask and if we feel good we are going to cope better. Good Luck xx

Re: can i have a shower on the morning of my op?
i knew about the nail polish and make-up from previous ops...oh well, maybe i will straighten my hair too in the morning now as at least it will stay looking half decent for a few days then..i'm naturally curly...but going naturel with my hair is not going to do me any favours with 'blokey'.. .ok thats decided then.get up..light brekkie..shower...straighten hair...then i'm off..woohooo!!!!!!

Hey Missmarie.
I showered on the morning of my op, using antibacterial soap supplied by MyBreast. I also used products in my hair, but no moisturiser or deoderant.
