LADIES I'M SO MAD ..... HOW DARE THEY (thg) !!!

JUST GOT A CALL FROM MY PCC TO SAY SORRY CANT GO THE HOSPITAL ON 17TH AS IT WONT BE OPEN IN TIME ( THIS IS THE WIMPOLE THG ONE) SO I SAID AR YOU JOKING ... SHE WAS LIKE NO I WENT MAD I SAID IVE BOOKED TIME OFF WORK I HAVE GOT MY CHILDREN LOOKED AFTER ETC , SHE SAID WE CAN DO IT AT DOLAN PARK WHICH IS 2.5 HRS FROM MY HOME WHERE AS THE WIMPOLE WAS 20 MINUTES!!!!

I SAID WELL SO YOU EXPECT MY MUM TO PAY HER PETROL THERE AND BACK AND A HOTEL TO STAY IN AS SHE NOT GUNNA DRIVE HOME SHE SAID WE CAN OFFER YOU AND YOUR MUM TRANSPORT I SAID I CALL YOU BACK I WAS MAD IM SURPRISE I DIDNT SWEAR IVE JUST PAID NEARLY £4000 TO GET THIS!

SO IVE SPOKE TO MY MUM AND HAS SAID NO SHE IS DRIVING BECAUSE HOW WILL SHE GET FROM HOPSITAL TO THE HOTEL SHE CHOOSES TO STAY IN AND THAT THEY CAN PAY HER PETROL .. AND FOR HER TO STAY SO I PHONED MY PCC IS "TRYING" TO SORT OUT PETROL FUNDS FOR MY MUM AND AS FOR THE HOTEL I HAVE TO PUT IN A COMPLAINT.. SO I ASKED IF SHE COULD SEND ME WRITTEN CONFIRMATION THAT THIS IS NOT MY FAULT AND THEY HOSPITAL HAD TO BE CHANGED - MY FRIEND WHO IS VERY GOOD AT COMPLAINING CAN DEAL WITH THEM...

BUT MY MUMS POINTED OUT ALL VERY WELL THEM MOVING IT TO 2.5 HRS AWAY IF MY APPOINTMENT IS AT 8AM I WILL HAVE TO LEAVE AT 5 ( INCASE OF TRAFFIC) THIS IS JUST NOT ON SO WE R GUNNA STAY UP THERE ON THUS NIGHT ....

BUT LIKE MY MUM SAID I SAW THE HOSPITAL I WENT TO AND ALTHOUGH MANY OF YOU MAY SAY ITS A NICE HOSPTIAL ETC I HAVENT SEEN AND JUDGED MYSELF IM SO SKINT ITS UNREAL AND NOW I GOTTA FIND COST FOR A HOTEL/TRAVEL LODGE ...

I hope they get something in place for you soon to set your mind at rest. Would they not arrange some transport to getn you there?

I wentt through hospital group too and have had no probs so far.

YE THEY HAVE OFFERED IT BUT MY MUM SAID SHE WILL THEN HAVE TO PAY ON TOP OF THAT FOR A TAXI/BUS TO A HOTEL FROM HOSPITAL.. IF SHE HAD HER OWN CAR IT WILL BE MUCH LESS ££ SO HAS SAID AS IT THERE CHOICE TO BOOK ME IN FOR THAT DATE AND MESS ME AROUND THEN THEY CAN PAY AND PLUS I WANT TO BE MY MUM DRIVING I KNOW HER AND HATE LONG DISTANCES ANYWAY X

I think it may be very easy to convince them to organise your transport to Dolan Park for free AND refund to your credit card enough for your mum to get a hotel room and cabs to and from the hospital.
Make an estimate of these costs and spell out clearly what you want and how much and try to keep cool and you'll probably get it.
I've been to Dolan Park and it's really good so don't worry about that side. I've also used their drivers to take me from my home in Sussex to Dolan Park and they are very friendly, so I'd take that option over making your mum drive. As for getting up in the middle of the night then yes, you'll have to, I've done it, it's alright as you (and your mum) can then sleep in the car while the driver takes you there.
Don't worry hun, it will be okay. Just be polite but firm.

thanks everyone im really cross with them and they didnt call back today so they best tomorrow, cant believe this i just dont get why they took bookings if it wouldnt be open its like they just saw the ££££££ ... :( oh well least i get them done .. x

Completely agree with the other ladies that they should compensate you. I would just be direct with them, the least they can do is put on transport for you and your mum and if she is staying, I believe they have a double room so surely if they don't want to pay for a hotel they can let you share a room.

Make sure you are happy and don't just settle with an apology.

blieve me i am going to getb some money back once i have put a complaint in .. it means my husband cant visit me ( sounds pathetic) but i am petrified of hospitals .. and aloughht its pirvate at the best of times i dont like being on my own so this is gunna be miles from home... thanks everyone just needed to rant i feel less mad now x

Rant away....... if it doesn't feel right then you could alway postpone? You have to do what is right for you, you will get your new boobs even if you have to wait a little longer but then at least you will be able to have visitors and be in a more comfortable surroundings.
Just see what they offer you tomorrow, hopefully they will produce something good and if you do come to Dolan Park then I'll come and visit u as I should still be there.

It's totally unacceptable what they've done.

You need to estimate how much the new expenses will cost (everything, petrol, hotel stay, extra childcare etc) and email them your estimations. Include as much detail as poss, copes of a full tank of petrol receipts/hotel booking etc. Then state that as the error was on their side you'd like the amount refunded from your original price. Keep calm when you speak to them, and don't hesitate to mention that you'll be seeking compensation via small claims if they refuse. Make sure you get EVERYTHING in writing, or call them and record the call (you will need to state you're recording the call)

god, i would make sure u dont pay anything extra then what u normally would have had to pay for. As they moved the hospital u r going to visit its simple......THEY PAY FOR THE INCONVINIENCE!!!
say it to them on the phone, be like ''oh sorry i didnht realise i wanted to change the hospital'' they should expect to pay for hotel and travel...i mean c'mon!! a whole 2hrs and 10mins extra travelling time?! not on :mad: im sure they will pay you everything they should....ide expect a bloody mint on my pillow when i arrive!! ha ha. At the end of the day, 4000 is a lot of money,
let us know what happens tomorw hun!! try to be polite and firm, shouting and swearing wont be as effective.

thansk all jen i cant postpone ive booked time off work as and that was agro in its self, family and friends are taking time of work etc to have my 3 between them and also 3 weeks and few days after i have t4 o n beach and 6 weeks after i have my sons christening, so i really need it done on that date thats why i chose that date out of the list they gave me :( thanks ladies for all the advice im going to be sitting here when they call to say what you have all wrote haha :D so thanks for all the advice found a travel lodge for £29 a night which isnt to bad but still extra x

Look at it as a small hiccup; and that the outcome will be amazing! You have waited so long for this - for now let it go over your head and after op ask for money back.

Good news about the travelodge! Yes that's good, out of curiosity I checked on a map before and I saw it, only 2 miles away (if its the same I've seen) so taxi fares will be reasonable.
Obviously they will need to prove their goodwill by refunding your expenses, but I wouldn't go as far as threatening them of formal action, they're not formally obliged to do anything (they could just choose to give you back your money and refuse your custom just like any other company) but they DO want you to go with them because they want your money, so now you'll just have to make them try a bit harder for it. You are the customer and you are in power.

Remember you do not want to go into the hospital and put yourself into the care of a company you really hate because of what's happened. Only go with them if you find an arrangement in the end that makes you happy and that makes you feel valued as a customer.
I've gone with THG and I was happy with them, I think there's every chance that you will too once this is sorted out.

PS If worse comes to worse and you have to go to Dolan Park on your own, don't worry too much. I've done it on my own, and really, it's no big deal. They're used to people who are nervous and they will make it as smooth as possible. x

That's probably good, shows you're not picking the most expensive hotel so you're not claiming excessively.
