Re: sleeping issue
I slept that way for about the first 12 days, after that I went to my bed, but still had to slither off the bed like a snake to get up! I slept in a recliner, so it wasn't bad. But yeah, for me it was super uncomfortable to sleep flat or on my side sooner than that, I sure did try, but it felt like too much stuff was moving around in there! Always do what your PS recommends, but if he / she says that it's up to you, just go with what's comfortable to you.
I am about a month post op, and I just now last night laid on my side and it wasn't uncomfortable, and then I have read other's that were sleeping on their tummy after a week. We all heal differently, so best of luck to you!

Re: sleeping issue
oh it took almost 3 weeks til i could lay on my side even a little bit.... // gosh that was almost the worst part. // i still can't lay on my stomach at all. im not sure if theres any other reason not to besides its just uncomfortable and hurts... but boy i was sooooo happy when i didnt have to always lay on my back. @@ i really didn't like that part.

Re: sleeping issue
If you're feeling OK and don't find the swelling uncomfortable, you could try settling into a side position, your body will speak for itself! LOL if you're OK to get back on your side, you'll slepp well and all will be great! If you're not, it won't take too long before your breasts start to ache and you're uncomfortable and having to go back onto your back. xx
Re: sleeping issue
So True Cookie...I tried last night to side it a bit and I couldn't handle it!
Back on my back for a bit longer I'm thinking

Re: sleeping issue
I think it took me a year or two before I could sleep on my front without it feeling weird.
Listen to your body (that sounds so cliché I know!) and if something hurts or aches it's best not to do it.

Re: sleeping issue
I slept propped up for the 1st two weeks.
It was only after a night out and a few vino's later that i dived into bed and slept perfectly fine on my side. I did find in the morning that they ached a little, but since then i have slept on my side and have been fine. I tried resting on my front the other day, and although it didnt hurt it did feel strange and i was worried i'd do some damage!!

Re: sleeping issue
I am 11 days as of today at the 7 days I was told okay to sleep on my back, but I notice that I wake up feeling really tight when I sleep on my back. So last night I slept propped up again and this morning I woke up feeling better that I did sleep like that. I have a U shape pillow (travel pillow) and it helps a lot sleeping propped up.
