The morning of my op....
Probably a really stupid question, but I have to check in at 7.10am, and I'm wondering if I'm allowed to shower when I get up that morning (about 5.30?)
I know I can't get any water in my mouth... but has anyone showered the morning of their op instead of the night before?

Re: The morning of my op....
I've been told i can shower anytime before but i'm also having to shower at the hospital when i get there to make sure skins clear of any perfume or lotions etc. So I should think its fine just dont put any lotions or creams on after?

Oh... I hadn't heard that one before!!! I always put moisturising cream on after a shower as well, so I'm glad you told me!!

I showered the morning of my op. As long as you don't use any creams, stronge scented shower gels or deoderant it will be fine. x

Re: The morning of my op....
I showered the morning of my op, I had early check in like you. I just didn't use any creams or deoderant.
Re: The morning of my op....
I wasn't actually told not to use any creams/deodorants on the morning of the op, but I did shower the night before and used baby oil (as usual) after and sprayed deodorant in the morning??? I was told to make sure I didn't have polish on my nails and to take out any body piercing ( I have a belly bar, which I removed) and all was fine on the day. Different clinics have their own stipulations hun so just adhere to their rules and you should be ok....xx

Re: The morning of my op....
As Angie said, each clinic is different - at THG they ask you to shower after you have been shown to your room and provide special soap for you to use. I would check with James' secretary to ask him what he prefers.............but has anyone showered the morning of their op instead of the night before?
