Don't know what to do? Empty Don't know what to do?

Hi girls

My op's a week on Friday, and I booked it knowing I'd have just over a week to recover. Just gone into uni today and I have an 8000 word group project to do this term, attendance compulsory, or the rest of the group get penalised also. I have to go in for an hour the following monday.

I know it's just an hour, I don't want to have to rebook and I can't let my group or myself down, it's 40% of my final grade and I wrote the wrong essay last term so I'm counting on the project to boost my percentage.

Has anyone been ok after 3 days loaded up with painkillers for an hour out and about or am I kidding myself? I really don't want to cancel and I don't know what to do! xx

Are you having overs or unders? I would think you would be fine for an hour, but you cant carry anything heavy - text books/laptop
You wont be able to drive - will need a lift
otherwise an hour isn't going to kill you, but you might be very tired afterwards and need a nap

I would get as much rest as you can the first couple of days, like misf1 said you will need a lift and someone to carry your stuff.
You will probably feel shattered after, but just rest up again when you get back home and you should be fine. good luck x

Hi
I work at a uni as a course administrator and we would offer an extension to the whole group, speak to your course leader or administrator and as long as you show them your surgery booking details with they date, I'm sure they will issue you at least a weeks extension...x

All have to carry is a notebook and pen so that's ok, I have to get a train though, cos uni is an hour away. Having overs so hopefully it won't be too bad. Do you think I should postone or go ahead? x

I'll try have a word about to uni, the prsenation isn't due for a month though so it's not an issue of getting it done in time, it's just it's the only time I meet with my assigned group a they're all only 18, bless them, I just happened to be assigned with a group who won't do the work if they're not told what to do, they're off out drinking every night and doing what students do (haha, jealous!!!) If I don't go in, I'll end up doing it all myself xx

Thanks elb, I'll have a word, I just ned to make some excuse as to why I'm having surgery, haha!! x

I suppose each uni's policies are different but I know in the past at ours if one member of the group needs an extension and has evidence then the whole group gets the extension.
I must work for a nice uni.. :flowers:
