Re: Smoking????
I know what you mean hunnie, I gave up for 7 years and one of my best friends was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and it was too late for them to do anything to save him. I travelled from Torquay to Bradford quite a times in the year he managed to survive and I started smoking again during those long trips.suzie wrote:............... I quit for 8 years, had one in a moment of stress at work coz my boss was smoking, and I'm now back on bloody 20 a day. What an idiot!
Managed to cut it down to around 4 a day before the op but never any less than that and it's now crept back up to 10 a day.
Must go and see my GP and see if he can prescribe me that anti smoking pill (champix) that was mentioned earlier as it would appear to help significantly.

I think your right you have to be ready!!!
And from friends who have given up they say you are never a non-smoker you are always an ex-smoker cos the craving is always there!!!

Not always the case hun, I gave up 11 years ago and I was a 25+ per day kinda girl and although it was really tough for the first few years I can honestly say I 100% do not ever crave ciggies anymore...although I often still smoke in my dreams WTF!?!?

Re: Smoking????
I really wanted this to be the end of my smoking. I figured if I had to give up, why not NOW for me and my $$$ boobies. Normally I don't smoke every day and could easily go without for a few days depending what I had on. I decided a New Years Eve party would be the last smoking party. I've had about 8 cigs during the week after new years. Since I hit the two week pre-op mark I've had 4 puffs.....but that's it for me. I'm already worried I've stuffed up and am pretty disappointed in myself. It's strange that I could go lots of days and not think about it or miss it previously to giving up but when you "can't" have them you really want them.
A girlfriend of mine smoked all the way through her BA (it was quite a few years ago) and was fine - I look at her as lucky....I just think we should all do our best to get the best result. We are paying lots of money for our boobies.

Re: Smoking????
That's exactly how I feel but last Thursday at the two week before op mark while trying to do an essay for uni and majorly stressed a cig was all I could think about!!!!! Today was meant to be the give up day and already ive had one!!!! Back to uni today plus my pre op at 10, but sometimes I wonder if I use this as an excuse!!!!
