Trying to get this scab to heal!
Hi guys, you might remember me freaking out about a scab i had on one of my incisions that came off too early.... well after looking after it carefully for the last 2 weeks with dressings and Inadine, its finally scabbing over again....
thing is, i would like to try to speed up the healing process with this... i am sitting around without a bra at night times to try to let the air get to it... is it safe for me to sleep without a bra tonight? i am almost 8 weeks post op (470cc).
also, at 8 weeks post op, it still doesn't look like i would be able to achieve much cleavage with an underwired bra... (i could before even with my little boobs!) is there still time for them to soften/fluff?
thanks :)

Re: Trying to get this scab to heal!
I definitely think you have plenty of time left for them to soften and fluff, so don't worry there hun! My surgeon told me it will be at least 3 months after the op before I begin to see the final result.
Also, I've read lots of girls on here who still wear their support bras at night even to this day... but I think this might be more for comfort than anything. I can't really give you advice on this as I'm still pre-BA myself, but hopefully someone else will be along soon to help you out!!

Re: Trying to get this scab to heal!
Hi Ruth, welcome back hunnie.
When you went for your 4 week post op check up, what did your nurse tell you?? Did she tell you to leave them alone or did she tell you it was safe to start to massage the scars?
I started massaging them with the Tanamu cream I bought and I seem to be getting good results from it as the thick ropey scar under my leftie is now softening considerable and is feeling a lot, lot better (see my latest update on my BA Diary (3rd from bottom [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]).
I wonder if you also might have a 'dissolvable' stitch that simply hasn't dissolved and it is this that is causing the problem.
The nurse who saw me also said that I should continue to wear a support bra whilst sleeping - although this seem to be a contentious subject with widely varying opinions. However, if you feel that the band is rubbing against the scar during the night and prolonging the healing process, I personally would be tempted to leave it off for a few nights and see if that expedited the healing.

Re: Trying to get this scab to heal!
Hi hun,
I was told I could stop wearing a bra at night at 6 weeks if I wanted to, however, I just like wearing it, it gives me a sense of security.
As for getting cleavage... be patient... Mine are only just starting to have more cleavage and I am like 13 or 14 wks post op.
Some of the girls on here suggest wearing a bra one cup size smaller for killer cleavage.

You still have loads of changes to come hun. Your boobs have lots of time to soften and you will be able to get a killer cleavage soon!
