Heal gel?
Hello girls,
I've been advised to get some heal gel but it's quite expensive so before I buy was hoping to get some feedback from you guys?
Is there anything that you would recommend to use for healing after BA?
The other thing was that I'm having 345 and 375 allegan round, partials - I am currently an empty 34B/C depending on which boob you look at! bb What size do you think I'll be and what size sports bra would you suggest getting?
9 days and counting!!!!!
Thanks girls!
Carlie

Re: Heal gel?
I got some Heal Gel free with from mybreast but they dont do that anymore, it was very soothing on my swollen boobs for the first few weeks but i could've lived without it i guess. Any kind of cooling lotion like Aloe Vera gel would do i think, aslong as it doesnt get near your incisions. Pineapple juice is meant to be good for swelling and arnica for bruising
Re the size i would get a 34D/DD/36D for after x

I got some free Heal gel too - but I'm not actually sure what it's for! Is it for your scars or for general soothing? I've been using it the last few days on my scars as my bio oil ran out - am I wasting my time?

Re: Heal gel?
It's for scars and general swelling around the breasts straight after the op:

Re: Heal gel?
I do not know what the heal gel is for! Sorry!!
If it is healing gel i.e. silicone gel for healing incisions once they have fully closed it will be something like Dermatix or Kelecote both are very good and expensive. I got the Dermatix from e.bay less than a third of the price. You can also buy it in sheets.
For general moisturising and massage I used Pure Rosehip (rosa mosquitto) or Pure witimin e oil. Lots of the girls use Palmers too.
You could start moisturising your breasts now to soften the skin too. Good Luck xxx

Re: Heal gel?
Yeh probably hun, it does have some good ingredients and was made my plastic surgeons, smelt great too! But definately a bit pricey x
Re: Heal gel?
Hi,
I was told to start using it twice a day on my scars at 2 wks post-op which i've been doing - my scars look really neat and not too visible at all which i'm pleasantly surprised about (i'm 3 1/2 wks post-op now) but will take a while i guess to tell if the heal gel was worth it or not!
good luck x

Re: Heal gel?
The heal gel sounds fab, i only used cocoa butter on mine but anything cooling will be great for them after your op as the skin tends to get very itchy and red.
Kelecote is meant to be very good aswell im going to get some to try soon.
Not Long for you now hun

Glad
Hi Chick,
Glad you asked about the gel as I'm a sucker for buying things that are recommended and I would have gone and bought it, but thanks to all the girls for offering cheaper alternatives.

Re: Heal gel?
Bumping this post to ask a weird question - does anyone have any Heal gel they've finished with and I could the buy rest off you?! I'm keen to get some of this to use on my scars post-op but hesitant to spend £30 on!
Heal gel is supposed to be great as contains silicon, anti-inflammatory and arnica...

Re: Heal gel?
I have, no go. If nobody has any, I will fork out for the £30 - I figure it will be worth it in the end, to minimise my scars as much as possible - but figured I'd ask here first!

Thanks!
Cheers girls, think I'll buy some - apparently it lasts for quite a long time.
Do you think that is all you need to get or is there something else I should be thinking about too?
Thanks again.

Re: Heal gel?
Im going with mybreast and thought about getting this too- I asked the surgeon and he said to just use any moisuriser and mentioned Palmers and bio oil he didnt even mention the heal gel, just said that you cant use it until the scars have closed properly, so ill ask him again specifically about the heal gel after the op, see if its worth the money.

That would be great, could you let me know what he says, I'll hold on to buy it to!
Thanks

Re: Heal gel?
yeah sure but your ops before mine- mines not for another two weeks so you might be better off asking your surgeon, not sure how long it takes for the scars to fully close. xx

Re: Heal gel?
Hi - my healgel came thru the post last week as i ordered it off their website healgel something or other - you will know when you are on the right site when you read about it and designed by Simon Withney ( He is one of them) - was a bit staggered at how tiny the pot is !! for £30 including postage) but it does go a long long way and I figure this into the price of the op ... interesting what Mia says about massaging for 5 minutes - must read her post on that again ..... mine/scars are definately getting a bit lighter as they were not the most delicate of scars that I have seen thanks to girls here - hope this helps.
