Re: Crater in the breast that won't heal
Morning girls,
Some of you may remember the post I put up panicking about the above.
Well I wanted to share with you all that it has now completely healed. If anyone else has had a similar issue, basically what happened was the T section of my Uplift stitching had a protruding stitch out of the skin that wouldn't dissolve into my body like it should have.
It created a hole in that area of the breast, just under the breast crease which basically just widened and got bigger and deeper after I showered. (I was told I could shower, regardless of this so this annoyed me) At its biggest it was the size of a 5 pence piece, and about 4mm deep.
It miraculously never got infected, despite being open for a total of nearly 3 months!!! I had countless visits back to a clinic that wasn't even that of my own surgeon, where they would look at it every fortnight and just tell me the same thing- that it IS getting better. It was oozing, but not a green infected colour or infected smell. It was completely odourless, and no pain. On a number of occasions I was given some stuff that has silver in it to help the wound heal. It was a gruelling process but I got there in the end- and the scab finally dropped off a few days ago.
The wound is completely flat as the rest of my scarring. I admit, its a horrible darker patch of skin left there, which is a bit annoying, but, no infection, no further complications.
I just thought I would share that because I see that this kind of thing is a whole lot more common than I thought. I have heard it quite a bit on this forum as well as others now so if anyone may have any of the same incidences as me, just wanted to reassure you that for me, it turned out OK in the end.
If you need any advice relayed back to you from what they told me in my situation, do not hesitate to ask.

Re: Re: Crater in the breast that won't heal
Thanks for this post CherryCheesecake you've put my mind at ease, and I'm so pleased you're completely healed...boobs look great by the way in your avatar.
When my surgeon removed my dressings he said everything was fine and I could have a bath and wash my incisions. Of course I was so excited about being able to have a bath it was the first thing I did when I got home. When I was drying myself I noticed my incision was weeping at the t junction, I also thought it looked like a small hole. I was so upset. Anyway i've been back to the hospital and it's not a hole...thankfully. The nurse has given me some inodine strips to dress with it for a couple more days. She thinks my incisions have healed really well, but she did say the t junction is where you're more likely to have a problem.
Knowing you've had a successful outcome has reassured me if mine does get worse.
Thankyou hun

Im glad its healed hun, i'm sure it will turn white soon as you're still healing. Rosehip or bio oil are great for skin regeneration.
You're looking amazing in your pic x
