Re: March Buddies!
Hi ladies,
I'm 4 days away from my big day and I'm starting to get really nervous! I've always been a bit of a worry-wart and I'm starting to imagine all the things that could go wrong. I really hope that I don't end up in a situation where I regret going for my BA in the first place.
There's also the worry that I won't like how my breasts turn out. I'm rather petite.. I stand at only 5'2" and I wear a size 8. My hips are rather well-rounded and my 34A breasts makes my figure look like a pear. I don't want to end up with really large breasts because I do yoga and I don't want them to get in the way of my practice. I also teach and I don't want them to be too noticeable by my kids and their parents.
I'm torn between getting the moderate high (4.3cm projection) or moderate plus (3.3cm projection) profile silicon implants. Mine will be overs because I need the downtime to be as short as possible. I would like to end up with a nice full C and some upper fullness. I'm currently swayed towards getting the moderate highs because I think they'll look nicer on my small frame, but I really don't want to end up with 34DD/E cup breasts. Shopping for bras and trying to hide them under clothes at work would be a nightmare!
Sorry for the heavy post, ladies. I guess I could just use some advice and support.
Thankies much.

Re: March Buddies!
Candy - it's natural for you and your hubby to be worried about that hun. Especially with kids. But there's no need to frighten your children with that kind of talk, as it will just make it so much harder for you than it already clearly is. I had exactly the same fear. I literally couldn't think about anything else, but realistically, people have GA every single day. Think of all the women giving birth who end up with emergency caesareans who have GA and come out the other side, all the people simply having their wisdom teeth removed who have GA and wake up. There are hundreds of thousands of these operations going on all the time that involve GA and the risk is unbelievably slim. My anaesthetist smiled when I told him I was worried about. He said "I'm afraid to tell you that you DEFINITELY are going to wake up". Think how many GA's they do, every single day over and over and over again. They're monitoring you every single second to make sure you're ok. You WILL be fine. And you will be SOOOOO glad that you did it.
BK - I was a really tiny 32a before my op and I had 335cc high profile. I'd say I look about a C at the moment. I thought I was going to wake up thinking that I looked massive, but I really don't, and they're honestly incredibly easy to hide in clothes. I would suggest that you go with the moderate high, simply because the extra projection won't make as much of a visible difference as you think from having the moderate plus instead. I think no matter which implant you choose, you won't end up with "really large breasts", and if you're already in the practice of wearing padded bras I bet no one will even notice unless you want them to!
Just my opinion though of course :)

Your going to be fine, Ga carries virtually no risk at all these days. I agree, dont worry your kids unecesarily. Perhaps its your OH 'projecting' his fears, perhaps you need to reassure him and it might reassure yourself at the same time?

Re: March Buddies!
Hi ladies, sorry to have been absent a while, been a crazy few days! Mental trying to finish off everything at work before I left and then being on exercise with the TA this weekend... I got back at 6pm last night, went to bed and woke up at 7 this morning!
I'm now trying to sort everything out for the op tomorrow and I am wondering if I've actually done enough preparation for this. I have clothes and bras and things, a lift home, parents on tap for the next two weeks to help me out but...
I guess because I have had really major surgery before and was fine I didn't really figure this would be a huge deal and maybe I have under-rated it a bit and now that's worrying me!
Candycain sweetheart don't worry you will be absolutely fine I am sure of it!
Thanks for all the posts ladies I am getting an idea now of what to expect! I will try to prepare my poor mum for helping me out with stuff like dressing and getting out of bed. I will keep the painkillers by my bed if I need to!
I'm glad all the march girls seem to be feeling better, great stuff ladies! Today will be a bit crazy so no idea when I will post up again, maybe not until after the op tomorrow.
xx

OMG CC, what a thing to say to you knowing how frightened you are about it already. Some men have the tact of a five year old!!!
Honestly hun, it is like Lindylou said, hundreds of thousands of operations are carried out every week and you might hear of something going disastrously wrong once every 3 to 5 years - and don't forget these anaesthetists aren't working under the pressurised atmosphere of the NHS, they are a lot calmer and probably a lot more experienced too.
You will be fine sweetheart, I promise

Good luck hon,
Your going to be totally fine. You need bras and everything else they can provide if needs be. Its so good you've the experience of surgery already, it'll help you feel more prepared of what to expect. Good luck, cant wait to hear how you do!

Thanks EJM =O) You're right I should be ok.
Do all of you have/had someone staying with you? Typically for me I don't, just little me by myself but then that's how I'm used to doing things.

I have a house mate who will be about for a few days to help me out if needs be, but i dont reckon i can let him dress me, so front zip support bras, skirts, button up shirts and prob no pants for a couple of days - everything else is probably do-able. But some micromeals for easy food prep. By the sounds of these girlies on here, after 3 days your up and about, doing again.

Re: March Buddies!
No, I don't have a partner Seranade and found that I coped fine. I'd done a big house clean the week before and made piles of casseroles and curries and frozen them - so not much to do with meal preparations other than take stuff out of the freezer and pop it into the microwave and as there was only me, the house didn't get too messed up.
The most difficult thing was getting out of bed, but the way I managed it was to wriggle myself towards the edge of the bed, sweep the duvet off and lie at a slight angle to the edge. Then lift my legs up high, and keeping them straight, swing down hard keeping my stomach muscles tight. Things brings you into an upright position with your legs over the side of the bed - ready to stand up.

Re: March Buddies!
lol @ that image carol!!! But very true, it's the only way to do it! Definitely get some help around if you can, simply because it puts less pressure on you and makes your recovery a little easier, but I'm sure if it is just you then you will get by for a few days with pre-prepared meals and zip up clothes, although there's personally no way I could have got in and out of my bath without a little help the first 2 days.
I have to say girls, I'm only on day 4, but today I feel no pain or discomfort whatsoever. I've only had two paracetomol this morning, and I've managed to bath and wash my own hair, as well as blow drying it. I'm going to uni for 1, so I'm going to take a stronger painkiller before then just in case, but fingers crossed that I'm already over the worst of it, and I hope my other March buddies are doing as well. Lowering my pillows did me a world of good I think!

Wow you sound just like me! You need to keep busy. whether its emptying and re-sorting the kitchen drawer, going to town and buying some bras or doing some work, you need a full on distraction, it'll slow your heart rate and help you chillax.
Your going to be fine, sign a few forms, put on some paper pants then off to sleepy land and its all over :boobchick:

I'm tomorrow too and am also petrified. Last night saw me blubbing my eyes out, mostly with worry over the GA I think, I've never had one before. Today I just feel in a panic. I've been round and round this decision in my head, and mostly think yes, I've wanted this for many many years so go for it.......but sometimes it's why am I taking a risk having unnecessary surgery. Definitely a sleepless night tonight. I've got my mum coming over this afternoon which will be tiring as it will involve me making her feel better rather than the other way round. Could cry at anything right now. My kids are really small so I'm telling them I've got a sore back as an explanation as to why I can't lift them up. I've only told my mum and two close friends, so this forum has been great for me. xx

I am having a Happy Boobie momment. Can't wait til tomorrow now. This site is wonderful. I get scared and when I sign in here are read how everyone feels I feel normal. Now I am excited. Going to try and hang onto that feeling. I have less than 24 hours now!!!!! YEAH!!!!! I still have to choose betwee the 335 cc high profile or the 360cc extra high profile. Any sugestions? They are tear droped shapped. I was leaning towards the 360cc because it seems everyone says go bigger but I am scared they will stick out too far.

Re: March Buddies!
YAY!!!! Candycain I'm so pleased to hear you get a little excited, honestly you will be fine. And DEFINITELY go for the bigger option. They won't stick out too much and you will love them!! lol. Trust me, there isn't that much of a difference between 335cc and 360, so I think you are definitely better off going with the 360 if the surgeon thinks he can fit them in. I've yet to hear anyone say they wish they went smaller!
I've uploaded a load of new pics from today if anyone wants to see (not that there's much more to see from last time lol). I got a call today saying the nurse will be taking out my stitches on Wednesday, so roll on wednesday when I can finally see them in their full glory and get a good ol' shower!!
Good luck to all you girls going in tomorrow. We have a new girl who's posted in the newbie section, who is also going in tomorrow so there's loads of you!!! Can't wait to hear all of your stories!!
