Re: How long does worst pain last?
Sorry sweetie, I didn't have any pain from the operation in the chest area, but I did have back ache from sleeping in that inclined position. I'm now getting (day 10) a little bit of ache in the boobie area and some sharp transitory pains in the nipple area, but haven't needed any pain relief so far.
Hope it soon starts to be pain free for you too hunnie

Re: How long does worst pain last?
I was numb so didn't have any pain, but I did ache a bit and the back pain from sleeping propped up was the worst for me. I'd say the first week or two for aches and pains and then I started feeling like myself again
Re: How long does worst pain last?
I think the worst is over in about a week, some are still suffering discomfort after that for possibly another week but can manage. xx
Re: How long does worst pain last?
I think I am probably one of the lucky ones, as I didnt really have any pain, was on paracetamol from day 1 x

Hey Tinkerbella
Just read your posts and sorry you are in pain :( I think it's because you had unders - I had overs on Tuesday and have stopped taking the Co-codemol and am on normal paracetemol now as it isn't that bad now. You must've had a reaction to the GA (which I am surprised I didn't get as everything makes me sick!!) maybe you could take motillium for that (available over the counter) but check with your clinic first.
Hope you feel better soon xx

Re: How long does worst pain last?
I had no pain either - didn't need painkillers at all. I just felt tight across the chest, as though I'd been doing a lot of push-ups. The worst part for me was the 'morning boob' - they were unspeakably painful for the first 5-10 mins after getting out of bed in the mornings. I had to clutch them tightly while I got up to go to the loo, but it eased quickly and they didn't hurt during the day. They're definitely just part of me now - I'm not aware of them at all.

Re: How long does worst pain last?
Ah Tink, Im so sorry to hear you're in pain. Especially as most others don't seem to feel too bad.
I also had unders. I have to say I didn't find it that painful, but that may be because I was preparing myself to be in pain, so was better than I expected. (I hope that makes sense!)
I did have definite discomfort. The first week was the worst as I was very restricted and was no way able to move normally. But the week after if I rested I felt better, but if I did too much I seemed to go backwards a bit and feel tight and a bit achy. Have you been resting?
I'm now about 2 and a half weeks and my recovery has really sped up! Every day I feel stronger and am getting back to normal activities. Im still not totally there and I cant throw my kids around and play rough and tumble with them!
So hang on in there. It must feel like time is passing so slowly but just distract yourself as much as possible and you'll be through the worst really soon.
Just a few weeks of feeling sore to have beautiful boobies forever more! :teehee:
