I am Hopefully having my uplift and ba done on 5th December but am slightly worried that I am going to have tiny boobs! They offered me either a large implant to fill the skin of around 600cc and showed me some pics and the were frighteningly huge and I went for the uplift with a smaller implant as having had 2 ba's done before I didn't want to spend the money to have massive implants only to have them drop too low in a year or so. My biggest problem is size of implant. I have Implants now but don't know what size they are rang the hospital where I had them done and they have been taken over by another company so don't have my records. Rant the ps secretary who did them last time and they remember me but have no records! So my ps this time is going to order in sizes from 190 to 300 as she doesn't know what she will need until the old ones are out! I think the ones I have are around 260 so I wouldn't want her to use smaller than that so I am a bit concerned I guess I'll have to wait unilateral my next consultation with my ps to see what she says. Probably no one else has been in this position. So I am probably just venting rather than asking for help. I am sure I have made the right decision to have the uplift as personally smaller pert boobies appeal more to me than gigantic ones which could sag. But I am a bit freaked out I will be tiny. I know they have to be careful with an uplift not to make them too tight as it can cause problems healing. But it is making my head hurt thinking about it all the time. Sorry to bore you all. I should maybe start a diary instead of rambling!!!

Hi Bebe

I am not in your position exactly as I haven't had any surgery yet but am also going mad about sizes! I have asymmetry so the size I can go for is dependant on how large the PS can make my smaller one. As it's tubular it can't go too large as there's not a lot of skin from the crease underneath to the nipple. I have been driving myself mad thinking I am going to spend a *lot* of money as well as an operation to end up with small boobs. I know the main reason is to have mine made the same size but I also want them bigger as I am really curvy and need them to balance out my body shape.

What is so hard is that everyone has different sizes put in and ends up with different sizes after! I have seen girls who all start with similar stats, have the same size implants put in and end up totally different bra sizes after! I have looked at so many photos I've driven myself mad, but I suppose the only thing we can do is talk to the surgeon and let them know what we want?!

Good luck Heart

Yes I was recommended him as he is specialist in reconstruction and I have seen his work on tubular breasts - amazing!!

I have stressed to him I don't want to spend money and go through everything to end up with two boobs the same size as my larger one as I can do that with padding in my bra!! He told me to get sports bras in D and DD which doesn't fill me with much hope as I assume they go down smaller after that!!!

I think you have made the right decision getting the uplift and smaller implants instead of the large implants... when I had my first consult my ps told me I needed the uplift I was upset he said I could go somewhere else and get just a large implant and they would look good for a year or two but to expect a re-op... so of course I had the uplift and I am so glad I did.

Did u bring photos into your consult... despite what size u already have in there showing your ps photos of what you want to look like can help to decide what size to go with.

how tall are you? Your height and breast width also plays a big part in what size implant you can have.
I ended up with 540cc which sound huge but truly they do not look big on me at all as I am tall and broad.

good luck with everything xx

I too think you've made the right decision about having an uplift hun and agree with Sarah about showing your surgeons pics of the look you're hoping to achieve. This way when your surgeon is changing your implants they'll at least have a good idea of how you want to look and the result you're looking for. xx

Hello, just a quick message to say that I have just been through virtually the same thing myself. I had hydrogel implants in 2000 and had some problems (capsular contracture - and it turned out one implant was actually ruptured) so I arranged a re-op with uplift. I had it done on October 14th.
Exactly like you, I had no idea what size my old implants were, but thankfully a very helpful lady at the private hospital where I had them done managed to find out from the archives that they were 290cc. My surgeon was dead against big implants with an uplift, and like you say, I really didn't want them to droop in a year or two, so took his advice and went for 340cc this time. The uplift will make such a difference to the shape of your breasts that they don't need to be huge to look fantastic.
I am having some problems healing after the op, but that's another story.
Good luck! I hope you are happy with the result - really, shape makes such a difference over size. x

Hi newpair, how ru healing? I'm booked to have re BA due to cap contraction & uplift next wk. I met with Mr Khan today & he has warned me that doing the 2 ops at the same time will make it v difficult 2 guarantee a perfect result. As he has 2 do the marking for the uplift b4 my first implants r out he has advised me 2 do the 2 ops seperately but financially I can't. Ru happy with yr results? r they symmetric?! I'm worried as I won't b covered for a re op because he has warned me of the risks.

Hey queenie... have you considered seeking another opinion from another surgeon?

I know you've already booked hunni, but seeing as you say you wont be covered should you suffer a complication, that's a big thing to think about sweetheart... Ignore me if you like hun, but I'd be inclined to seek further advice hun and if you're more comfortable elsewhere, it may be worth considering forfieting your deposit for the sake of security after your op hun. xx

Sorry not to reply sooner, I just saw your message.

I had awful problems healing after the op, it seemed to take forever. I was told to expect a visit to the clinic after a week, probably another after 2 weeks, then see the consultant after 6 weeks to be signed off or whatever. In fact I have been there once, sometimes twice a week since mid october, and it's been a total pain.

My PS didn't seem to worry about doing the uplift with the re-aug, and he didn't warn me of any additional risks beforehand. The problems I've had have been all about the scars healing, and bits opening up - not asymmetry or anything like that. Everything is now healing, but it's been a very long and painful road, with a lot of inconvenience - for example - I couldn't shower for 6 weeks because of open wounds. Now that they're healing I can see that my breasts are pretty symmetrical. I had quite bad capsular contraction, and a ruptured implant, so there was a hell of a mess to sort out. I think I'll be happy with the finished result in the end, but I must warn you that my boobs looked absolutely gruesome for a while! Because of the extent of the surgery on the cc, there was a LOT of bruising, and my PS used metal clips from the nipples down and under the breasts, which looked horrid.

I feel glad that I'm getting to the end of a long and painful journey - one that I felt a bit ill-prepared for to be honest. Things are not always straight forward and nobody tells you that. Maybe your PS is just being realistic and giving you the worst case scenario. I really hope it goes well for you this week. x

Well it's 4 weeks now since I was done and all went really well the surgery was complex and too 3 hours and I have felt sore but not needed many painkillers. Had a slight infection over Christmas but got a secOnd course of anti- biotics really quick via my GP. All seems well now skin is a bit dry but healing well. Still a bit sore if one of the kids cuddles me too hard but on the whole I am really pleased! I knew going into this it was major surgery for me. But it was the right thIng for me especially when the surgeon told me I had pip implants in before and I never even knew. But thanks to all for your help.
