Activity level first week?
Hi girls!
I am just two days post-op and I'm feeling really well....which I guess is good, but I am slightly worried that I'm doing too well if that makes sense...
I went for a couple of short walks yesterday and it felt alright, today I went for a little longer walk and it felt really good!
I can lift my arms above my head (I don't becuse I don't wanna stretch the scars) without any "real" pain, I can make coffee, close my jeans etc.
How careful do I have to be?
I'm not taking max dose pain killers, just taking one every 5th hour (allowed 2 every 4th).
How active were you the first days/week?
Thanks

Re: Activity level first week?
I would say take it very easy for the first 2 weeks even if you feel fine hun, you are fresh po and with unders too so you dont want to damage anything. I practically did nothing for the first 2 weeks apart from walk and make meals etc x
Re: Activity level first week?
I am back to work on monday , couldn't get more time off. I have a desk job though and work with all girls around me, I know that if I feel tired they would back me up and cover for me :)

Desk jobs ok hun just dont reach high for anything or lift anything unless you have to x
Re: Activity level first week?
Yeah hun, I did nothing for 2 weeks, and even now at 3 weeks I have only done long walks, some cycling in the gym without using arms, and I am still trying not to lift my arms unless it's for washing my hair. I am going to limit all upper body movement for the first 6 weeks to the strictly necessary. I'd say we got so far, let's be extra careful now!!

Re: Activity level first week?
I felt like I had to be careful of them months after my op, even now I worry sometimes!
Just take it easy, don't push yourself and rest up loads in the evening before bed (or you'll really feel it in the morning!)

Yes you take it easy Tinyme, the GA does take it out of you and your body needs extra rest to heal well.

I were quite like you hun, felt really good after the op, and because I was feeling that way I think I may have actually overdone it..
I'd agree with the other girls, wait til about 2weeks before you start gettin back to normality.. Have plenty of rest..
