stitches
Hi
I went to get my non-dissolvable stitches taken outon tuesday. The nurse really struggled and snapped them a few times in process. She then started unpicked the dissolvable stitches "to try and get at the non-dissolvable ones!" She was clearly getting quite stressed and was trying to act like she wasn't. She opened up some of the nicely healed wound quite badly. She then had the put sutures on it and another dressing which has quit a bit of blood stain which is actually more stained than the one I wore out of surgery. She has arranged for me to go back on sat and see another surgeon (not mine) but i'm still not happy. I am thinking of asking to see him next time he's here and then again in afew weeks after to see how I'm healing. She said it was my fault as I clearly heal well...how was I meant to know how well I heal!
I've been happy with all my treatment from surgeon so a bit dissappointed.

Re: stitches
ouch! i'd say you're entitled to ask for any follow up you feel you require. sure she meant it in a nicer way than it sounded when she said it's your fault as you heal well but still not a great thing to say.

Re: stitches
That sounds awful jay, you poor thing. I don't think I'd be too happy, it sounds like she doesn't know what she's doing.
