Effects of having babies on implants? Empty Effects of having babies on implants?

Post by kettlel 25th July 2010, 11:03 am

Hi there

I was just wondering if anyone knows of any info which looks at the effects of having babies on implants? I know plastic surgeons say that babies don't effect them, but is that really true?!

I'm having mine replaced on tues (woo hoo) due to grade 2 cc in both breasts. I didn't breast feed either of my boys out of choice but noticed after the 1st one (born 2007) that they were a bit firmer and not quite as pleasing to the eye! My 2nd little man was born Feb this year (he's 5 months now) and my implants are really suffering now, hard and lumpy around the edges, esp the right one, although to look at they still look pretty good.

Anyway they are 10.5 years old now and I was just wondering whether it's a coincidence cause of their age or has anyone else experienced similar probs after their babies? I'm not having anymore babies now so hopefully these ones will stay looking and feeling good for a long long time, fingers crossed!!

Take a look at this thread [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] you might find it helpful. xx

Could it be that your implants are maybe 2nd/3rd generation implants the ones that they said would need replacing every 10 years or so? Nowadays implants are form stable so they can last longer.

Do you know who your implants were manufactured by? If they're feeling lumpy that isn't a good sign.

O have just noticed you're having surgery tomorrow.... good luck!
