Re: September Buddies!
I'm excited and can't believe it's really happening so soon, and a bit scared too, I just keep thinking about it! and I'm not 100% on what size I'm having yet so I've got the stress of making a decision on that bubbling away at the back of my mind constantly!
Looking forward to it though, what about you?

Re: September Buddies!
I get a bit freaked out thinking that one minute I'll be in the theatre and then the next minute I will be awake and in another room and it will all be done.
What's bothering me most though is giving up smoking and drinking for 2 weeks before and after the op - this is going to be tough! I am going to be a monster lol x

Hi HelloSailor!
I gave up smoking 16 days ago for my op (which is now only 7 days away - eek!), it's been a challenge for sure. I just keep telling myself it's all for a good cause and that I want to give my new boobs the best chance!!!! I've been using the lozenges to help with the craving.
Good luck! You can do it! :cheerlead:

Good work! I've been told though you're not even allowed nicotine replacements and have to go cold turkey? I gave up for 6 weeks last year using the nicorette tampon thing and that was great, but don't fancy stopping altogether!

My PS didn't actually tell me to give up, which did surprise me a little. I had just seen some reports on wounds not healing well in smokers and thought it would be the best thing really. I'm sure that having patches or soe form of nicotine replacement that works for you is better than actually smoking. At least you don't have all the other nasty chemicals as well as the nicotine! How they expect people to just give up with no help is beyond me

Re: September Buddies!
mine is a week today (8th) and i was dead upset today and had 2 fags :-( might even have another one in a mo. i know i shouldnt but after smoking around 30 a day for months i really cant see a couple making much difference.
had a nightmare finding sports bras as well. 34 c and d's must be so popular. been to watford, uxbridge and staines and could only find 2. (thats not why i had the fags though!)
seeing the surgeon tomorrow and getting my list of questions ready with some photos to take. wondering if its all worth it at the moment as i am feeling really down

Re: September Buddies!
aww just do your best with the smoking Vicki (and you other girls stopping smoking) cutting right down from 30 a day is a huge acheivement and will make your healing after surgery so much better.
I don't know if it was last night or the night before I was lying in bed thinking 'what the hell am I getting myself in to, I'm healthy, I've got young children, and I've just wasted 4 grand on something I'm not even sure about...!' It's really horrible having doubts and I feel alot better about it all today, but I suppose it's just natural to be nervous and stuff.
At the end of the day I've gone through months and months of saving hard and researching it and I know I want it, it's just scary, but boob jobs are so common these days it's not some experimental procedure, millions of women have been through it before us were just fine.
xx

Re: September Buddies!
I had my pre-op yesterday :-)
you're not supposed to have any sort of infection in your body when you have the surgery, and my c-section scar had got a bit sore a couple of days before, so I showed the nurse, and she advised me to see my GP about it cos it looks infected :pale: so I went this morning and I've got to take antibiotics for a week to clear it up. The nurse said if it still isn't better by the time I'm supposed to have my BA it would have to be postponed!
So I really really really hope these antibiotics work cos I havent got much time left before my BA and I'd be so gutted if it was cancelled! But fingers crossed it'll all be sorted by then.
I planning on ordering a couple of sports bras tomorrow, I'm going to get a zip-up m&s one (or 2) and maybe a Debenhams one I've seen recommended on here I think. I've been told to get 34E and 34F, so excited.

really sorry to hear about your infection. fingers crossed it will all clear up. re sports bras. i got the m&s zip up one and i also got the triump 'triaction' high level one. showed them to my surgeon yesterday and he thought the triumph one was softer and better. doesnt look quite as supportive to me though but it is 'softer' cost £22 from john lewis but i think you can get them from most good dept stores. unfortuately alot of the m&s ones are racer back which is clearly no good just after surgery! i also find them very difficult to get on at the best of times.
i only have 5 days to go now. oh god how scary!
