Scars & steri strips
My left scar seems to be abit more scabby on one side of the end of the scar (if that makes sense) where i had the stitch out it seems like its gone more scabbed over than anywhere else on the scar. My other scar hasnt done this so should i get it checked out could it be infected? it doesnt hurt or anything.
Also i think i might be alergic to the steri strips as all around them looks a bit red and they are itchy or is this just normal? Oh and also when im getting washed I have a bath take soak the steri strips so they come off easily, then get a shower to wash my hair etc then dry the scars and put fresh steri strips on, is this right? or should i be keeping the steri strips on untill i get out of the water xxx

Re: Scars & steri strips
its most probably just healin hunny, when there is an infection its **naughty word** and weepy. id ring ur pc and just explain it to her but im sure its nothing to worry about.
and with the bath situation i didnt think u was aloud to soak in a bath just have a shower.. and i didnt have to keep putting stri strips on mine just once i have dressings taken off at 10days there were just left, patted dry with towel then got the hairdryer out to make sure they were complelty dry hunny. but every surgeon_company does it diffently so im sure there is no harm in ringing and asking, cuz thats what there, there for xx

Re: Scars & steri strips
Hope its ok littlewisher! I had a mole removed from my leg a few weeks ago, but it wasn't a typical mole, it just looked like a very large freckle as it wasn't raised a lot....anyway, I now have a scar about 4cm long on my outer calf and when the wound was healing I experienced things like you are. My scar is now healed up and fine, I didn't get it checked out but I think with yours you are doing the right thing by getting someone to look at it! Let us know how you get on!xx

Re: Scars & steri strips
Thats good to hear kelly that your wounds all healed up.
Just got back from the clinic a nurse saw me and a different plastic surgeon as mine wasnt in today, nurse didnt think it was infected but told me to try and keep it dry for a while but the plastic surgeon came in and gave me a cream and thinner steri strips think i was having a bit of a reaction to the thicker ones so must be a little infection. Ohwell got the cream now got to apply it each day so hopefully will be all good booked in for a check up on monday too xxx
