legs want to keep moving
Hey girls, the last few nights when i relax or try to sleep i can't because my legs feel like they have to move, there is no way for it to go. I am wondering if it is from the meds that i was on. I googled restless leg syndrome and they say there is a correlation between iron deficiency and the condition. I used to have it off and on as a child. What do you think and has anyone else had this? xo

Yes i've had that. It comes and goes but i don't know why. When i'm tried they twich and I have to straighten them out and wiggle my feet to make it stop.
My husband say's i'm like a puppy having a bad dream.

i have this before and after the ba, i found getting out of bed and walking on the cold kitchen floor helped me, keep your legs cool at night and dont cross them in the evening,

I get it all through the day and a lot of time at night. I wake up with my legs moving. It's very strange, but it doesn't bother me. Maybe the stress of the op has brought it on for you hun?

Re: legs want to keep moving
what do you mean by 'move'? you mean they twitch uncontrollably or you just cant stop jiggling them? I always catch myself moving my legs when lying on the bed on the laptop (like i am now!) or when theres music on i always wiggle my feet to the beat! i thought it was an annoying habbit!
Or do you mean like when your sleeping and you get that classic dream of falling and you suddenly land on the floor, and your whole legs twitch?

Try drinking tonic water, this will help (gin isn't needed but of course it is optional lol)Phoebe wrote:I get it too, I also get cramp in my toes and feet quite a lot

Re: legs want to keep moving
I have never had restless legs but post op I had restless ARMS!!
I was thinking it maybe was from the meds but it seemed worse on the nights I didn't dose myself up!! Which got me worrying about withdrawal effects from the tramadol!! But the restlesness did happen to me (albeit a different limb!) at about your stage post op.
And regarding the iron issue, if you were anaemic now it would have either been picked up at your pre-op bloods or if you bled a lot your notes would say something. Maybe worth if concerned contacting your ps secretary to get you haemoglobin and iron count. I think you will be fine and it's just another booby stage!!
