Scar creams.....whats popular?
I live in the US where there are a ton of scar creams, too many! Is there a popular one in the UK that has shown great results? Ive heard of Bio Oil for stretch marks but is it used directly on the incision site too? Id appreciate any advice.....Thanks!

Bio-oil can be used directly on the incision site but only after the wound is fully healed, it does say that it helps to reduce scarring, however I found, that it helped to smooth out the scarring a little but did nothing to disguise them, they remained red and very visible.
I've recently been using silicone gel sheets, I'm using cica-care but there are others - Dermatix is another that I can think of off the top of my head. These are expensive but well worth the money, you can however cut them to size and they are reusable, I've found them to be really good! The redness is really fading using these and making a remarkable difference! xx

Hi,
I have heard that Bio Oil and the Silicone sheets are good. However, I have used absolutely nothing on mine and my scars have faded to silver now and aren't very visible at all.

I'm currently using bio-oil on my scars (as instructed by my ps). I have however, heard great reviews about cica -care silicone gel sheets, so I'm looking to purchase some of these to help with the fading.

Re: Scar creams.....whats popular?
At my 6 week check up I was advised to start using Bio-oil on my scars and at my 12 week check my surgeon gave me cica-care silicone gel sheets to use. But I would advise anybody to speak with your clinic before using anything on your scars babe, as we all heal differently it's best just to ask those that are caring for you if your scars are healed enough to start using scar treatments on them. xx

I am the same as above, was told at 10 days I could start massaging with bio oil.
Will see how they go and then invest in the sheets if needed xx
