Scar problems with my problem side
I have not been around much lately, truth be told i thought i had bottomed out on righty and felt so down about the whole situation i felt unable to concentrate on much else if i'm honest. It's not the fact of having the complication that worries me it's the thought of whether or not my body could cope with going through another op after the trouble i've had so far that scared me more than anything.
Anyway I saw my surgeon today and he has said he is pretty sure it's not bottomed out but my breastline is moving down along with the implant rather than the breast drop over the line like it has on leftie, he said this is because the scar tissue is not giving it the elasticity it needs to drop like leftie has and therefore it's all moving together.
He took pics & told me to massage the scar area & breastline on righty riligiously to try and encourage it to loosen up & said he is going to wait 6 months before reviewing it again because he wants to give it as long as possible to heal after what it has been through.
Comparing pics it is looking worse as time goes on, i just really hope the scar tissue softens up and it improves in time. At least if it's not bottomed out i am in no immediate worry of a re-op so feel a little less apprehensive over it all now.

Re: Scar problems with my problem side
Really sorry to read this SS after all you've been through too!
I don't know if this will be of any help to you, but my surgeon gave me some silicone sheets called cica-care you can read about them here -
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
It helps, soften. smooth and take out the redness from the scarring, I'm already seeing a difference babe after only a week, the scar joining the vertical to the horizontal was quite tight on mine and this has helped that too, so maybe worth giving it a shot babe.
Always thinking of you and hoping things get better. xxx

Oh no SS,I can't believe that you're still having problems hunnie-you've been strong and patient for soooo long.
Maybe try the Silicone sheets as Cookie suggested and keep up with the massaging.
Sending you big hugs+am keeping everything crossed for you!

Re: Scar problems with my problem side
Sorry to hear you've are not healing as hoped. I think the best thing for you to do is stop taking photo's, it makes any differences seem a lot bigger than they actually are. One of mine hasn't dropped down as far as the other and is a different shape. I did think about going back to my PS as I was becoming quite paranoid about it, but at the end of the day they look fine in a bra or bikini and I can wear tops without a bra if I want, which is the main thing for me.
Take care and big hugs

Ah hon sorry to hear about your boobie worries. At least the worst is over and your boobies healed up.
Try and give your righty lots of attention, there maybe other things you can do to soften it as well, maybe massaging a certain type of lotion/oil?
I really hope it comes out like your lefty because you have a fabulous pair! Fingers x'd for you chick xx

Sorry you've had these problems SS. At least you have a surgeon who's going to stick with you this time - and I'm sure he'll find a solution for you.

Re: Scar problems with my problem side
Thanks for your advice and tips girls it's much appreciated as always.
Cookie, are those ones only available on prescription??
It has got to the point though where i can't wear a top without a bra due to how lopsided it has become and also when i do wear an underwired bra the wire sits differently on each boob and cuts into the right one =( so the only ones i can wear comfortably are ones without wire so still stuck in sports bra's!!
I am going to try and concentrate on doing everything i can to help the scar heal and not worry about what might happen anymore because like you say, whatever happens i am not alone this time & have a great surgeon so i'll be ok in the end, wenever that may be. x x x x

No hun, you can buy them from the chemist - after recommending them to my mother-in-law she bought some for a scar on her face from facial surgery, but she had to order them in and they took a day or two to arrive. My brother-in-law who is a theatre nurse also said these are fantastic too and are what surgeons recommend to their patients (he works with Mr Liew)
They weren't cheap either babe, I think she paid fourty odd pounds for it, but it is cost effective as you can cut the pad to size, wash and reuse the pad over 30 days! so when you look at it like that, it's really not a lot of money.
I've found I've used half the sheet to cover the nipple scars, horizontal scars and just a bit at the bottom up the vertical (thats the bit that was tight), so that would work out at £20 a month.
Re: Scar problems with my problem side
That's great thanks for that hun, i will definately get them, i'm sure Nads also told me about these too but i totally forgot to get them, i have put it on my phone on a reminder so will invest in them for sure.
Just one more question, do you wear them all the time or just at bedtime?

You start off 2 days for 4 hours, then 2 days 12 hours, then you can wear them for best effect if you want for the 24 hours, sometimes they can cause irritation so you need to get used to wearing them, I've found no bother at all with them though and am now wearing them all day, just taking them off to shower and wash the strips

Re: Scar problems with my problem side
Hey SS
Just read your post hunni. So sorry to hear about this. It's really not fair after all you've been through, but like you say, you do have a really good surgeon this time, and he's not going to leave you in the lurch.
I think it's really good advice that he wants to leave it for 6 months. This gives it plenty of time to recover from everything that it's been through. And hopefully the massaging and silicone sheets will help, too.
Stay strong, hunni. You are a beautiful person, inside and out. And this will get sorted in the end. And if you ever need another op buddy (hopefully it won't come to that), I'll be there for you if you need me.
Big for you. xxxx

Re: Scar problems with my problem side
a quick update,,,
i think i am making progress, i don't want to say too much too soon but i believe i am helping to shape the breastline at last and guess what with............
Underwired Bra's!!!!!!!!
I have stuck to sports bra's because of the comfort but since seeing my surgeon i have worn just underwire (as uncomfortable as it is) and i do believe my breastline is now raising under my boob rather than sitting flat!!!
Together with the tips from you girls & the Bra's i do believe things are improving,,, fingers crossed
