First consultation - advice?! Empty First consultation - advice?!

Post by Daisychains 6th July 2014, 1:02 pm

I am very excited as have my first consultation on weds with rajit grover. I've printed off the list of Qs from here and have been keeping a note of any other questions that pop into my head but is there anything else I should know? Anything that came up in your consultations that you hadn't expected or that you didn't think about until after and thought, damn I wish I'd asked/done xyz?

Am so excited! Hubby coming with me too as want to make sure he's fully aware of what this will involve if I go ahead!

Good luck with your consult. Which company is your consult with or is he a private surgeon? The list of Q's provided on here pretty much covers everything you should be asking x

Try not to get overwhelmed. Write down everything you want to ask, and make sure you're satisfied with the answers. Write the answers down so you can look over them again later. Most importantly, there is no such thing as a stupid question!

Thanks girls. Princess he is the current president of BAAPS and comes recommended by someone I know in the field so figure he's got to be pretty good. Have seen a couple of interviews on YouTube and he comes across really nicely so am hoping that's the case in real life!! X

I considered Rajiv Grover too as he seems to specialise in the natural look. He is London based though and that put me off.

Congrats! First consultation is really exciting. Can't remember whether it's on the forum's list of questions, but definitely ask about ASC insurance (it's the one that BAAPS members do which extends your aftercare), and I'd ask as well (only if you're going private rather than hospital/clinic) about . Also, if you're going private rather than through a clinic or hospital, it might be worth asking what happens with your aftercare if the surgeon retires/moves.

I found that most of my questions about the op itself were covered in the conversation, so the main questions that I asked were about aftercare :-) hope that helps a bit x

Good luck with your consult Hun , glad hubby's going with you as sometimes it's easy to get swept up in the excitement. Ask all the questions, but also ask why to certain ones such as the placement. He would choose, as it should be tailored to YOUR body x
