23 days post op and worried! Empty 23 days post op and worried!

Post by SamCarty 24th April 2014, 7:09 pm

Hey everyone!

I had a lollipop uplift and implants on 1st April with mr Hassan. My tapes came off on Tuesday and I have a few concerns and wondered if anyone who has had an uplift had any of these issues and can share some advice please?!

I know it's really early days and I won't see the final results yet, however:

1. I have sensation in one nipple but not the other - is that normal?

2. I have a 1cm long, thick thread sticking out of one end of my underneath scar - shall I leave it alone?

3. One breast looks like it is recovering well, however the other breast nipple seems slightly lower (compared to the other breast) and the underneath (between nipple and crease) has some looser skin (compared to the other side) and the implant appears higher in this breast - almost like it needs to drop into place (which would fill the sagging skin!) Should I be worried about this at this stage?

Hope these don't sound like stupid questions!!! Would be really grateful for any responses!
Thank you ladies,
Sam

Hi Hun, I have not had an uplift but from reading what you have said, I wanted to say that I am 7 weeks post op tomorrow and still don't really have any feeling in my nipples yet, it can take a while for the feeling to come back so I would not panic about not having feeling in one of them.

The thread will probably be the end of the stitches. I had the same on both of my incisions and they were the ends if the internal stitches and the nurse cut them off for me. Don't play with them, just leave them.

I also had one breast higher than the other and one nipple facing the ceiling and one facing the floor at one point, so try not to worry. These are 2 separate operations and they will have swelling too.

If you are sTill worried give your surgeon or clinic a call.

I am sure one of the uplift girls will be along soon too. Xx

You need to call your clinic about the stitch as it can cause infection.
I ended up being told to go to gp to have it trimmed. Wasn't painful and my scars have now closed up nicely x

Hi Sahara, thanks for your reply, I will call the clinic tomorrow about the stitch! X

Hi Lucia, thanks for replying too :) I'm glad the sensation thing seems to be semi "normal" that makes me feel loads better. With regards to my nipples, one boob seems so perfect (as expected) and the other just doesn't :( the nipple seems lower (not by much) and pointing lower and the implant needs to come down (it would seem!) when did your nipple direction settle down?  Do they seem at their finished state at 7 weeks? x

The nipple thing is really normal babe.

My let boob has always been my better one and my right has been really stubborn and still is a little as I still have swelling and have to wear my band still until it drops like my left. They started to straighten up a bit after about 3 weeks ish but even one they are not quite the same and I think it will be a while before I see my final shape etc. left has dropped and is looking good, and right is starting to drop and it did get me down quite a lot but I have to tell myself that righty will get there and they are not at the end result yet but they will get there. I will pm you my picture trail details, I have kept quite a detailed picture trail and you will see on there the changes over the past 7 weeks. Xx

I'm at 9 weeks and my left nipple is about a cm higher than my right.
It can take up to a year to be at your end result so just try to relax and try not to look to much x

Hi Lucia, really appreciate you sharing your pics with me, thank you :)

It's so hard to assume I am at my end result and I promised myself that I would only worry after 6 months post op! All goes out the window ;)

Thanks again ladies :)
