Re: Allergic to Implants?
It is entirely possible. You are putting a foreign object in your body, so there is the chance that a) you could be allergic and b) your body could reject it. But the chances of having a silicone allergy are so incredibly rare. Silicone is everywhere in your life, hypodermic needles, latex gloves, even in cotton buds. Its likely you would know by now if you were. However, if its really worrying you, speak to your surgeon about the risks and complications.

Yes you can be allergic, and if you are, they will need to be removed. Just another risk of a BA, the joys! x

Re: Allergic to Implants?
Hiya, honey! As Charlii says your body could reject the implants as they are a foreign object and aren't naturally meant to be there.. However, so many girls have BAs and their bodies accept the implants and have no complications. It's really good that you've spoken to your surgeon about it and it's really good that you are considering all the risks and complications - it shows you're doing your thorough research and being sensible about your BA! :)
I bet you're happy knowing that your surgeon said he's never known anyone to be allergic to them :) I bet that's put your mind at ease haha.
Take care, babe.. Stop worrying and start getting that excitement up even more! ;) xxxx

Re: Allergic to Implants?
Hi hun.
My body rejected first ear piercings- well first 2 times. I was lucky the third time.
Belly button piercing 1st time. Second time it stayed...
Since then I had nose piercing, tongue piercing and several more ear piercings... Funny enough I don't wear any piercings for many years now though.
I have allergies to all sorts of things and they cause rashes, itching and asthma.
I've only had implants over 4 weeks and so far so good. No rash, reaction... I even woke up on my tummy this morning oops!
Fingers crossed you will be fine too.

Re: Allergic to Implants?
Yeah true but I think it's also the worry of saving up again incase it happens , I'm covered but my surgeon said I would only get the breast that was affected free off charge and have to pay for the other one... Also I was talking to my brother last and his nurse friend has had 2 BAs due to rupture and she received £25,000 compensation , why would she of received that? Xx

Re: Allergic to Implants?
its a risk that can happen, rupture and it can spread, so if its the aftercare that a rupture can be corrected so the rupture would have been sorted? xx

Re: Allergic to Implants?
Yeah that sounds crazy to me..... not to mention it's near on impossible to get compensation from cosmetic surgeons even if they pretty much butcher you lol. Allergies to silicone implants are SO rare, it's not even worth thinking about to be honest!
