I've had the sedation too hun - no problems at all. I wasn't aware of anything at all so need for screens or anything and no side effects from it at all either. You wake feeling nice and fresh.

I wouldn't worry about it hun - you'll be just fine. Its slowly becoming more popular to have twilight now.  3 years ago it was never heard of, now there's quite a few women having it and I haven't heard a bad thing about it yet. Xx

I had a DD sports bra on at last consult with nurse and she said too small so I think I may take myself off for a fitting tomorrow.. Do u think I should 4 weeks PO or is it better to wait 6 weeks? xx  want to fluff first but could be waiting a while x

i was wearing a d cup straight after BA and that was with swollen boobs - i have no idea what size i am now.

ben chew said i need to wait a good few months before getting measured as my boobs will change alot in first 3/4 months.  i will be gutted if i am only a c cup i know i will be!!!

Its not necessary Tink, but then neither is it necessary unless there are specific reasons that your surgeon would talk through with you to have an overnight stay with a GA either.

Most primary surgeries are overnight stays mostly because patients prefer the security of an overnight stay, but if there's no medical background that may give reason for an overnight stay a day case can be chosen with no problem at all which is cheaper and IF the surgeon then feels later an overnight stay might be best this would be free.


With revision surgery an overnight stay is only ever really given for those women that 'need' it. You're not paying for the overnight care, so if its not essential you generally don't get it. 

If you feel you would feel better staying overnight then I see no reason why you wouldn't be able to stay in hospital if your surgeon was agreeable babe. Xx

I'm sure it's ok to get a fitting this early, especially if it's for a well fitting sports/supportive bra to wear now... Just be aware that you are very likely to change in coming months so don't go mental with the bra buying incase they don't fit in weeks/months to come :)

I had a fitting in Debehams at 8weeks post op for a bra to wear to a party, and I am going for a fitting this weekend at Boux Avenue at 3months post op xx

I measured doff at 6 weeks 9 weeks and again and 12 weeks all in bravissimo xx

Hi Tink have you measured bigger or smaller.. I was so disappointed today as tried on a 34E in debenhams and it was slightly too big :(.. I'm wearing a 34F sports bra and it feels perfect.. xx

My 36DD sports bras are massive round my ribcage but the cups haven't changed at all , I'm delighted

You'll find that as your boobs drop they start to fill out through the lower pole and when they fully settle your breasts can then protrude forward. 

This isn't guaranteed for everyone though. But in all my years here I've only ever known 2 girls not have fluffed after recovery. Xx

Awww I thought so babe    We're all impatient waiting for that great result we paid for but as you know, four weeks is still really early 

Whilst your boobs are still sat high as well there's no way you're going to be getting a true sizing. They're nothing like the resulting size you will have. 

I know its hard... Honestly, I really do. No matter how many times you go through this, it never changes. We all want the same and our thoughts will all run away with us and panic sets in at times and we can become completely irrational...but ultimately, although our heads tell us one thing, our body doesn't listen and will just continue healing at its own pace - what a bugger that is hey! Lol

If I could give you any advise sweetheart it would be to put size completely out of your mind. Think of that part of your journey as a present just waiting for you at the end of your recovery...

Don't go near online calculators, don't go into shops having a sneaky little fitting, or trying bras to see what fits - whilst healing this will ALWAY lead to disappointment. 

Save that day of your first fitting and make it special. When you know you're going to see your surgeon for a check up which generally between 6 and 12 weeks call ahead and make an appointment at a specialist lingerie shop such as Bravissimo. These are your best kind of shops. The large department stores are 'OK' but they're not great for a fitting and you you certainly don't want OK on such a special day do you! So stick with Bravissimo or search google for species do lingerie shops near you. Often the most beautiful little lingerie shops are tucked away and you may have never noticed them before but they are amazing! I use my own local lingerie shop. Specialised shops rather than the department stores tend to be better educated in the art of fitting a woman for a bra and it really is a science in itself lol...

So after getting the all clear you can then go for your fitting. Honestly, if you save this day you'll have as much butterflies in waiting for it as you did the day of your surgery! You will be fitted in bras that 'fit' and believe me babe, when you look in the mirror for the first time in a beautiful bra that 'fits' and looks bloody amazing you could cry - this is the final unwrapping of your present! The reward for waiting after all you've been through and in my four years here not one single woman has ever been disappointed after that fitting hun.

So make it special sweetie and I very much look forward to your happy post when you do have that fitting    Xxx

you are exactly the sem as myself - i feel the exact same re size and i have been soo patient - i am 6weeks po on thursday and i still no idea what size i am!!  i am currently wearing a 32d sports bra.

i think my boobs are still quite high, the left more full and slightly lower the the right which is appearing smaller/higher.  i am desparate to go and se ben but my appt is not until 11 week po.  my notes say to wear sports bra day and night for 6 weeks.  i have e-mailed my consultat today to say what happens at 6 weeks po - can i wear a nornmal underwired bra or do i need to wait and see him.

i am totally going through a rollercoaster of emotions and i am just not enjoying this phase at all just now.

i am praying i will be a dd/e cup when im measured and that my boobs end up looking the same size.

 am also not sure if you should push them together at all but mines are very much still like two hard torpedos on my chest and can totally feel the implant at the side under armpit.

Cookie - can i ask is the fluffing them dropping AND softening?

Hey Karen. I'm the same babe.. Will be 5 weeks PO tomorrow and implant still feels high.. Left still got bubble and generally not too excited at the moment. Want to look at my boobs and feel amazing.. I don't.. Feel like I should have gone bigger, maybe went to different PS..generally questioning a lot especially since PS said to wait 9 months before possible revision... Try not to feel too deflated babe.. It is such a roller coaster... Please don't try on nice bras just now.. I did and was soooo disappointed.. Wanted to be filling an E/F and E was too big.. :(... Not happy xx
