Will I Feel Like Going away 2 weeks post BA?
I have my first check up on Tuesday after having my op Sunday just gone so am not going to book anything until I know all is well.
I live near Manchester and would be looking to go to Torquay for a week in a caravan. So it's over 4 hrs drive. We can stop when necessary and I have been out in the car a few times and not felt too bad. Hubby will be driving!
My hubby wants a change of scenery and is off work so we would be going exactly 2 weeks after my op (11th August)- We're quite an active family so I'm a bit apprehensive about holding my hubby and son (8) back!!
They could still do things whilst I watch- Just think it would be nice- nice walks- nice meals.
What do you guys think?
Thanks
Charlotte

Hi Charlotte! I've not had my BA yet but the surgeon says 2 weeks off work so I assume if you're well enough to go to work after 2 weeks you'll be we'll enough to go on a little trip! As long as you take it easy I'd think it would be ok, just depends on how you feel. I'm sure everyone recovers at a different rate. See how your check up goes! xx

It's a tough one! We all heal at different rates, some women may feel ok but for others it's the last thing they would feel like doing! The worry would be that if you went you wouldn't feel great and would be stuck in a caravan! Xx

Im pre ba but going from what other girls have said in past, listen to your body, if you feel up to it then go for it, otherwise maybe wait a little bit longer x

I agree, based on what everyone else has said you need to listen to your own body, however the change of scenery might be good for your recovery. As Missvmac28 says, if you can go back to work after two weeks a little trip should be ok!x

Hey hun, like jennifer said, everyone heals at different rates. For me personally, i was fine after about day 5. At 2 weeks post op i had a weekend away and went to the Rihanna concert! I was seated but I was fine :) i had unders which generally require longer recovery... Listen to ur body. Walking is encouraged to keep bloodflow going. So as long as it isnt seriously power walking i doubt it would do any harm xxxx

You should be fine hun as long as you have no plans at all in participating in anything active and also being prepared to possibly stay behind in the caravan whilst the family do things because you may just feel too tired to do them.
If you're prepared to possibly have a change of scenery yourself, be able to go for meals and the possibility of resting a lot in the caravan then go for it hun. Its not like you're committed to doing anything when you get there and will be able to take things at your own pace. Xx

Hiya, I am three days post under muscle BA and I am feeling well enough to go on holiday, as you say your OH can do anything that you feel unable to do.
Just make sure you take lots of comfy pillows!

Thanks everyone. Going to see how it goes at check up on Tuesday but I def think a change of scenery will be good! Being in a caravan we'd be able to go at our own pace and I'd have a little base should I not feel up much... No rushing round to get breakfast at a certain time... If I'm in comfy in the night I can get up and watch tv without disturbing hubby and son too much. I think it will be good. Will let you all know if I book anything. Xx
