Hi Sparkyleeds, at a guess I doubt think it would be long until you would be able to.
I guess its down to when you feel like a walk really....but if you do have a very pully dog this may be difficult.

I would just say though, according to a surgeon I saw at Transform - don't leave yourself just resting in bed all day - too much laying about is not good - you still need to stay a bit active and move about a bit.

Hope that helps a bit x x x x

I took my dog out the next day after my op but my boyfriend held the lead. I had no strength in my arms so I wouldn't of been able to hold him if he pulled me, and he's small. Maybe you can walk slowly with your husband to start off with? I think I was fine to walk him on my own after about a week. Xxx

Walking is great but the pulling is not. I would wait quiet a while yet hun you wouldnt want to cause yourself any mischief. Good luck xxx

I waited a whole month before walking my dog - but she is a husky x german shephard so she's pretty big! And she's sooo boisterous and pulls like mad. I think my implants would of gone somewhere else if i'd taken her out too early haha! xx

I think the issue would just be a sudden jerk could cause a hematoma early PO. I'd give it at least 3 weeks, or even 4, personally.

Better to be safe than sorry - you're better off waiting an extra week or two versus having another op!!

I was walking my horse on a lead rein by day 3, although the boyfriend actually held him for about 14 days.... bit more of him to be pulling than a puppy lol.

I suggest getting a haulti collar for your doggie. It goes around their nose and just takes away their strength to be able to pull. It does not cause pain or discomfort like a choke chain or anything so dont worry. I have a Rottweiler who were origionally bred to pull along farmers carts at the market so you can imagine that he is very strong when he wants to be. With a haulti, theres not much tug at all and he and the moment you stop walking it causes the dog to stop immediately so theres none of that business where youre trying to go one way and the dog is trying to go the other way.

Hope this helps. x
