Post surgery urgent help please
Hi Ladies
I had my BA this morning with Mr Nathan of Transform - all went well but my left breast is so swollen and the bottom part is painful and the whole breast is rock hard and sits a lot higher than the right which is soft and not much pain at all - is this normal - i wasnt in much pain when i was at the hospital but as the day has gone on the pain seems to be worse and the swelling has increased - can anyone help?

Re: Post surgery urgent help please
Heya jomcm, congrats on your BA. On Tuesday when I was 1day post op my boobs were both EXTREMELY swollen, to the point they felt like they could burst! I think its normal if they are different too as they both will heal at different rates. My left boob is still sitting higher compared to my right, and is much tighter and sore.

Re: Post surgery urgent help please
You should have been given a 24 hour number darl for your clinic I suggest you ring them to be on the safe side afterall that's what there for. You don't want to risk anything it could quite simply be normal but everyone's body reacts differently. Give them a call Hun and put your mind at rest. Let is know how you get on xxxxxxxx

Has your swelling got worse - mine has defo got worse in the left breast and its sitting almost under my collar bone - its really rock hard compared to the right which is a dream! I just took some more pain killers and felt sick/dizzy and sweaty!! it is really painful but not at the top which is just really tender - do you think im over reacting?!

I would definitely ring the 24 hour emergency number you were given hun xx
It might just be that you need some antibiotics but RING them now xx
I don't think you are over reacting at all xx Better to be safe than sorry xx

I called the helpline and he said to put ice on the swelling at the top - its defo got worse since i left the hospital and is almost up to my collar bone. he said if it is worse in the morning to go in. Just took some more pain killers and felt sick/dizzy/clammy/sweaty. Dont know whether to go in now or wait till the morning if its worse

Re: Post surgery urgent help please
You can always go there now if it's nearby or your local A&E x I would without a shadow of a doubt xx there is no way I would leave it till morning xx
It is better to get it checked by a professional now and it be nothing than wait till the morning and it be something really major xx
You have just had major surgery and this is your health we are talking about xx you need to see someone now xx
Go now and get it checked it out PLEASE!! xx Don't leave it till it's too late xx

Re: Post surgery urgent help please
I had ice packs on mine most of the day, I wasn't as concerned because it was both of them. If it was mostly one and it has got worse throughout the day I would probably ring them again or go in? It's so hard because everyones body reacts differently. But they are the experts. Hope you're alright xxx

Re: Post surgery urgent help please
I agree with all of the ladies. It's better to be safe than sorry. I am just like you, I tend to over analyze things BUT this may not be one to just ignore. For me, probably 1 week post op, my left breast became really swollen on the side, and kind of like a numb, burning sensation, I was totally freaked out, but I just iced it and tried to relax. Luckily my swelling went down and it was nothing major. I wish you all the best and I hope everything is ok

Re: Post surgery urgent help please
Hi ladies. Thanks for all your messages. I'm typing this from my hospital bed at the riverside hospital. They are keeping me in over night and operating on my left boobie tomorrow as it's a build up
Of blood and clots. Am absolutely gutted. Had a right old cry. But better now than when I've started to heal. I look a right treat. Have compression bands on. Then my Macom bra. Then blue rubber gloves with ice cubes in them
Stuffed down the left side. A drip in my arm and taken anti sickness drugs, tramadol, antibiotics and a sleeping pill!! Thanks Kay your message made me come here. Big hug to you xx

Re: Post surgery urgent help please
Well, hell!! I'm not happy to hear things have gone wrong, and that you needed to be admitted... but I am VERY happy that the advice of someone on here got you to get yourself checked out!!! It might not be nice to be back in hospital, but it is the place you need to be right now to get yourself better.
I'm sure they'll get your fixed up as soon as possible, and with luck, you'll heal up well going forward. BIG HUGS and I really hope you feel better soon!
Wishing you well, and thinking of you. Let us know how you get on, hun xxx

Re: Post surgery urgent help please
I'm really sorry to hear about your complications. I was thinking of you and hoping it was like what I went through, just annoying swelling and the healing process which only needed rest and ice. I'm really glad Kay put her foot down and made you go I hope your recovery is speedy and NO more compliations. And Missy77, I'm glad to hear your recovery is going well so far since your last complications. You girls had me worried. Wish you both the best
