Re: Overs or Unders?
I got partial unders, my ps said i didnt have a choice! lol i would've most definately got ripples and other complications if i got overs as i had no tissue, plus they would've looked like quite fake which i didnt want x
Re: Overs or Unders?
I wasnt given a choice either my ps just said you'll need them under the muscle as theres so little tissue there. I presume mine are full unders he didnt say anything about partials i didnt know they existed before my op xx

Re: Overs or Unders?
I guess it would be hard to tell without asking your ps but from the nipple down mine is over the muscle and feels much softer/squidgier than the top of the boob x
Re: Overs or Unders?
Partials for the natural look of the shape at the bottom of your boob, can't wait!! Plus I haven't got loads of tissue so need to have the muscle covering the implant

Re: Overs or Unders?
I had overs, I didn't want the chance of distortion etc so for me this was the best option

Re: Overs or Unders?
apparently there is a legal recommendation for overs, i have just the right amount of tissue for overs, but ps said to reduce the risk of ripples and other complications i should have full unders.

Re: Overs or Unders?
My PS said he would only ever recommend overs with more than 2cm of breast tissue (all over the breast) this he measures with callipers. I have 2 point something (can't remember exactly) but decided unders would be the safest bet for me! I'd be distraught if my boobs looked anything but natural!! :pale:

Re: Overs or Unders?
Its hard to tell sometimes especially if you're muscles are relxed too but if i tense my pecs i can tell the difference between the top of the boob and the bottom cos it still stays squishy there whatever happens x
Re: Overs or Unders?
I had overs.......I was a 32a/b but my surgeon said i had a good amount of tissue to have 260 or 300. I asked about Partials but he said overs were best for me.

I had partials too and mine is completely opposite! How odd...I wonder if it's because I had anatomicals, so the top part has a higher percentage of natural boob!

Re: Overs or Unders?
That is odd lol cos yours are still covered by your muscle up top but I keep hearing that anatomicals are firmer, idk if that true or not, due to a thicker shell xxx
Re: Overs or Unders?
Yeah it's really weird...I would expect it to be the opposite. Mine are generally really soft now but feeling the top I think they feel completely natural...the bottom part I think not quite so much. Wasn't sure about the shell though!

my ps said i have just over 2cm at the bottom and more than enough at the top, but to get a better result i should have full unders, i also want natural looking boobies

Re: Overs or Unders?
All these bumped threads that were started when I was pre-op!
I had overs. I was surprised that my surgeon suggested overs, but I trusted him completely and am pleased with the result. They are one day away from being 3 weeks old and they are fairly squishy and I can push them together. I'll have to update my piccies again so I can have the opinions of my lovely BJS girlies.

Re: Overs or Unders?
I was going to get overs but when I woke up from the op my ps said he used a little muscle at the top to cover the edge of the implant as it was coming out too rounded, so in the end I got partials but it's under only in a small area. What is subfascial? if it means that the implant is under the skin of the muscle (not under the muscle nor directly under the mammary gland), I think a lot of surgeons do that anyway (mine certainly does) but they tend to still call them "overs".

Re: Overs or Unders?
Subfascial is when the fibrous fascia tissue is dissected away from the front wall of the pec and the implant placed beneath this fascia layer. Its more of a tissue than a muscle i guess x
Re: Overs or Unders?
Yes, I think that's what my ps refers to as "skin of the muscle". He says that even when he doesn't place the implant under the muscle he always places is under that fascia. But he still called them "overs" in that case - I have to say that I have always spoken in Italian to my PS so maybe that's where the confusion arises.
However, I remember going to a consult with Barbara Lutz of Transform and she also suggested I have overs, but said that she always places "overs" under the "muscle skin" too... so maybe it's a common thing. Confusing....
