Spire Aftercare? Empty Spire Aftercare?

Post by thevisionoflife 2nd October 2010, 10:53 am

Hello,

I’ve been searching through the topics and I cant seen to find what aftercare Spire offer?

Mainly worried about Capsular Contraction and how long I would be covered after.

I have spoken to someone at spire they said “The hospital guarantees any 're-do' for up to six months following surgery” I wasnt sure what a re-do was? Is this if you are just unhappy or is that if things go wrong? I know I should give them a call but I am not ready to book yet as i've not got all the money saved, so just wondered if anyone knew.

If anyone has been with Spire than can help clarify that would be great.
I have been to see the Hospital Group and they seem to offer longer aftercare, but was not happy with them, so I have found someone at Spire I would like to see but worried about what might go wrong!.

Sorry if I have not done this properly I am new! Blush

Spire Aftercare? Empty Re: Spire Aftercare?

Post by susib 2nd October 2010, 11:23 am

HI i went with the spire and to be honest i'm not sure what aftercare i get, i went to see a nurse after 1 week to have bandages off and i havn't been back yet, i had my BA on 31st aug and have got my follow up with surgeon on the 14th oct, not sure what i had even, all i know was i had 260cc overs.
Must admit i'm not good at asking questions, but i will say that the staff were lovely and my surgeon was great, done a great job got excatly what i asked for.
I did email my surgeon after 2 wks and said when can i have a soak in the bath, she replied with if you are sure your healed then soak away til your hearts content. Hope this helps a bit so yes i would recomend them :)

Thanks.

I see you went to Spire Norwich, that’s where I am looking at going!

I have been recommended Elaine Sassoon by my GP, but can’t find too much on her. I will have a look at Miss R Ali also.

And yes it does help, it’s nice to know you’ve had so far a good experience with them, especially as you’ve been to Norwich.

Did you have round implants? from your avatar picture they look really good.

Thanks again,
Jen

I've just been on her website and sent an email asking loads questions! So I will see what reply I get.

I like that she mentions about the scars being small, thats a real bonus.

I may have to decide between the two now, I'm guessing they are both pretty good.

Yes I am only about 40mins from Norwich, are you local also?

I know prices will be about the same, but i think Elaine is slightly more.

Do you mind saying how much you paid with R Ali? If not no worries.

I've been told its £120 for an initial consultation and £4700 day case and £5300 overnight. Did you have a day case or overnight?

Sorry so many questions!!

Thanks, that’s something to keep in mind then!

If her results are good and she is cheaper that’s bonus! I’ve been trying to search for her on the net but still can’t find much, apart from her website! This is quite impressive.

Not sure how popular breast implants are in Norwich, I’m sure there are several girls that have them! I don’t know anyone who has and most people think I am mad for wanting them.

Are yours feeling quite natural yet? Your only one month so I suppose they are still quite new!

(love the little facts on this forum, like how far along girls are and who they went with!)

Spire Aftercare? Empty Re: Spire Aftercare?

Post by Jaybles 2nd October 2010, 4:33 pm

Hello. I went with a Spire Hospital as it was where the surgeon that i chose worked from. In a nutshell and if i remember correctly i get appointments if there were problems up to a year ( if i needed them). My implant manufacturer offers my guarantee in case of capsular contracture. I think that if i had this condition after the one year period then i would get free implants but i would have to pay for the surgeon and surgery fees myself. If i am right you will be covered in case of any problems related to surgery for up to 1 year. This may differ depending on the surgeon and It may be different depending on area although i don't see why that should make any difference really. Hope this helps xxoo

Spire Aftercare? Empty Re: Spire Aftercare?

If you're looking for the Spire Aftercare policy, you can find it here:

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

I emailed to ask about it last week (and by the looks of things they've just updated it on the 1st October)

This is what they have to say in their terms and conditions if you suffer complications:

What happens if I suffer complications?
16. While the Hospital and your Consultants will
do their best to ensure a satisfactory outcome,
no clinical procedure is entirely risk-free and the
results of any particular treatment cannot be
guaranteed with complete certainty. You can find
treatment summaries containing information
on a range of treatments, including common
complications, on the Spire website at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
spirehealthcare.com/Our-Treatments.
17. The Fixed Price includes the cost of treating any
complications at a Spire Hospital for 90 days
following the date of your procedure where
those complications arise directly out of the
treatment you receive as part of your Treatment
Package and are identified within 30 days of your
discharge from Hospital, provided that you have
followed the advice of your Consultants and
any other medical professionals involved in your
Care following the procedure. This treatment
includes any consultations, out-patient, day-care
and in-patient treatment which your Consultant
says you need and which the Hospital agrees
to provide. If we are unable to re-admit you
to the same Hospital we will make the most
appropriate alternative arrangements at another
Spire Group Hospital at no additional cost to you.

I hope this helps! 👋

Thanks so much everyone!

90 days is not long! eek. This does worry me slightly, if anything went wrong and it cost £1000's to fix.

But the only places near Norwich are the Hospital Group (travel a long way for surgery) or Spire (and have it done local).

Guess this gives me a lot to think about.
