How mobile were you post op?
After your surgery, how much could you move your arms and neck? Is the range of movement enough for you to put a sport bra without any zip up, (the type of bra with hooks at the back).
I've seen some ladies's post op pictures wearing no zip ups bras at all. How did you manage to put them on? And can you wear normal sport bras on the day of the surgery? Obviously you'll need help for that, right?
I've been struggling to find some zip up bras today and settled for sport bras with the hooks. Hopefully before my surgery I'll find some zip ups.
Thanks.

Re: How mobile were you post op?
Hey hun
I was ok movement wise, I only used the type that fastened at the back with hooks, for the first few days I fastened the hooks at the front and spun them round.
After that I was able to reach round to the back

i'm 2 two days post op and i have the bras that do up at the back, i have to ask someone to do it up for me. i've got quite good movement in my arms but there is no way i could get my arms round to do my bra up. zip up ones would make life easier for you xxx

I was given one of them rolls royce bras with poppers at front at the hospital-only gud thing about my ba! It was really comfy and has got that silver thread stuff in to help heal.

I ordered one of these as its front fastening, annoying that they don't have black though... how are you finding the fit so far?

Re: How mobile were you post op?
Hi hun, I had a zip up front one and a back fastening one. I did the same as eastla and done the back fastening ones up at the front and twisted them round then put my arms in. For me I found I walked quite hunched over for a few days and couldn't have reached anything high. But I was ok to move my arms and neck. I just didn't do much as I wanted to make sure I was well rested for healing.

God yes I remember that too the hunched walk !! It's great when you can stand up straight again and when you are able to stretch - I love a good arm stretch !! xx

Re: How mobile were you post op?
I wore M&S front fastening sports bras but had trouble closing them so needed help as my arms were just so weak!
To be honest though babe, you'll be helped into your first sports bra at your hospital and if you don't feel like changing it till your one week post op appontment, then don't hunni. After a week, you've normally gained enough strength back to start doing things for yourself. If I didn't have problems with my wounds and having to keep going back to clinic to have my dressings changed I'd have just stayed in the same bra hun. xx

Re: How mobile were you post op?
I had loads of movement in my arms and I was able to wear normal bras and put a vest on the morning after my BA for the drive home.
I was really surprised and pleased!
The only thing I could not do very easily was get in and out of certain chairs, more so not able to get out of them especially if they were low down!
Lots of love

Re: How mobile were you post op?
Hey!
Had my BA Tuesday and now have pretty good movement back.
I was pretty immobile for 2 days - due to having drains and being kept in hospital but since leaving I have tried to keep as active as I am able to - if it hurts I don't do it! I couldn't put my arms straight up until the past couple of days.
As for the bra - I am wearing a medical z bra which you can get from a website called 'under the top.' It's expensive (£35) but worth it as it's ultra comfy and has a zip up front. Also, they will change it for you quickly if it's the wrong size - they will post the new size out before they recieve the old one back. Very recommended

Re: How mobile were you post op?
I was pretty much immobile for 2 days but after that I did everything as normal. I went to a Girls Aloud concert and was bopping away at 4 days post op!
I did have overs though which are less painful.

Re: How mobile were you post op?
Hahah, Grace, you're a trooper! I hope I get to move my arms around on Thursday after the op.
Cookie, are you really serious? Can I keep my bra on for a week or two? Woa... I'd really like the thought the only problem is I'll need to take it off for the pictures...
Thanks Catherine for your advice. and Thank you all for your replies. I really appreciate it.

Adrianne
My surgeon insisted I didn't take my bra off!! For seven days i didn't move it at all, I waited until 7 days before I even saw my boobs properly!! I have to say my recovery has been smooth and my scars are doing very well, so it isn't a bad thing I don't reckon!

Re: How mobile were you post op?
I always thought you weren't supposed to take the bra off for 7 days after? I am planning on keeping my bra on for as long as possible, think I will be too scared to take it off! I want to buy a front fastening bra as well but they all seem so expensive and I don't have a clue what size I will need!
