Hi all.
Im off to Gt Yarmouth today with my kids to our caravan and im planning on taking them swimming..... but been thinking and not even too sure if im allowed yet,
I will be 3 weeks pot op on saturday and i still have a couple of stri- stips on, does anyone know if id be ok to go into the pool, worried about the chlorine too,
I dont actually swim just get in and play with the kids :).

I don't think it's advisable Emma, you'll be in a 'public' swimming pool and you're still at risk of infection hunni, you never know what you may pick up in there hun, so best get your OH to swim with the kids whilst you supervise from the side whilst sipping on cocktails! haha! xxx
Re: when can i swim?
Nats right hun no swimming for at lest 6weeks. However if your just going in knee deep or even to your waist then you might be ok as long as you keep you boobs covered and dry. xx

Re: when can i swim?
Hi, I am 6 1/2 weeks post op and have the same problem, not sure if should get in the pool this weekend when Im away. I think its ok after 6 weeks, but my consultant said defo not before this time cos the wound it not fully sealed, even if it looks well healed, and you can imagine pools being quite dirty. We've waited to be 'booby women' and just want to look good in stuff like swimwear now dont we ha. xx

Hi Stotty,
Exactly lol i cant wait to walk round in my new swim suit and show it off lol.
Ive just spoke to my nurse and shes told me i can but think i will just keep my boobies out of the water and just go in the baby pool with my little ones, better to be safe than sorry hey.
