Help Ladies plz I am in pain and need some advice!

I havent been up to getting on here since my BA on Monday, I need some advise as I dont know what to do. I have had 380cc unders, the right boob feels fine and movement in my arm is good but the left boob and down the side I have really bad pain and bruising is bad, I have limited movement in this arm too. I couldnt sleep last nite because when I lie back on the pillow the pain is in my upper back 2. I am waiting for my PCC to ring me back. I am not a mardy person with pain as I have quite a high pain thershold but this is bad. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Also the pressure round my band is tight too.

get the next band bra up, or bra extenders, are you sleeping upright?

are you taking your meds still? sounds like you still need um hun.

day 3 and 4 are norm the worst hun, it will get better, promise

its does hurt especially with unders i have been told it does get better though as long as u hvnt got temperature or boiling hot boobies you should be fine so try not to worry

I had unders on the 10th.... my worst paing came on second day and my left side was the worst :( i ended up with a trapped nerve on my side near my arm where all the swelling was..... but im better now and im sure if u just give it a bit longer as you are still early days, just make sure you take all you meds when due or even ask them if u can have something stronger..... i went to my doctors and got co-codamol which helped.
Keep us posted how you go.... you'll be fine, i know it hurts :( but u will :).

The first few days are the worst hun but every day that passes it gets easier and easier

Just keep up with your painkillers, I took mine regularly every 4 hours (I have a very low pain threshold). With unders it is more painful as it's a more invasive procedure but it will pass hun, just rest lots and keep up with the meds.

Sorry you are having a abad time hun,I would try some cocodamol pain killers.You can get them over the counter but do not take them with paracetomal as they contain this already.x

I'd just like to say I Feel your pain, seriously! I know everyone says overs arent
as bad but I don't think I could cope with any more pain than this. I had overs on Wednesday and I feel like my ribs are broken. I really thought I had a high pain threshold too, Ive broken virtually every bone in my body and even walked around on a broken ankle for over a week before going to get it checked out. Non of the meds are even touching the pain, it is in both so I don't think there's anything wrong just never expected this. I can move arms and they look fab from what I can see so I'm trying to focus on that! Hope you feel better soon xxx

Ive no experince with unders but , after my 1st B.A I had loads of pain as others have said up your meds and wear a bigger band size or loosen the one you have got hunni hope your back to normal soon xxxx

Hang on there girls it is worth it - as the others have said the first few days are always the worst.

Set an alarm to remind you to take your painkillers on time and if you need to don't hesitate to call your clinic for advice if it really is getting too much for you.

Sorry to hear you're in so much pain ... like you I have high pain threshold, I didn't have much pain, just discomfort, but I did take Co-dydramol two every four hours and it helped..... def sleep propped up...... try one band size biggger bra size, I had to wear a 34C sb which suprised me cos I am 30-32, but after op the intercostal muscles around the ribs may be inflamed and you need to find comfort, like eastla says above if it doesn't improve you do need to get it checked hun..... my oh went to m&s for me to get bigger band sb...... and it helped immensley, I know its more money but it was worth it..... 6 weeks later i was back to 32 band....

i cant honestly say i understand how u feel. i had unders and the pain was unbelievable, i couldnt sleep and i hurt ached contantsly. because u have had unders there is alot more trauma to ur chest and it does take alot longer to heal. hang on in there and it does get loads better.. i didnt not feel any better really till i hit about 10days then things started to get loads better. i couldnt even pull my trousers down for a pee, or open a door handle. chin up hun xx

Sounds like you need a bigger band size hunni, I went up two band sizes after my op!

What position are you sleeping in? you know you don't have to be sleeping bolt up-right don't you hun? that really does play havoc with your back and is really uncomfortable. As long as you're head and shoulders are raised that's all you need babe.

As well as your pain killers, ice packs or frozen bags of peas or rice are a god send! Place them over the top part of your boobs to encourage the swelling to go down, you'll get lots of relief from this hun.

Hi Ladies

Thank you so much for all the advice. I ended up going to my clinic in Notts yest the Nurse was there doing a clinic. She checked my boobies and my incisions. She said there is no infection which I am so pleased about (this was worrying me) and the stiches are healing great, they are dissolvable so I dont need them removing thank god!. I am really bruised on the left side so she said to put frozen peas on there every hour for about 15 minutes. This is really helping. She thinks this is where the pain is coming from as boobies look fine. The bra is the right size so she said to keep wearing it.

Like you said cookie I was sleeping nearly upright which was completely wrong and playing havoc wiv my back, and she showed me how I should have be sleeping just slightly upright with 2 pillows. How stupid did I feel!

Then last night I started with another problem, I was already taking co-codamal every four hours and this has caused me really bad constipation (they said it would). So last night my mind was taken off the boobies and I was up till 5am struggling with thats instead, I was in agony havent been since Sunday. OH had to go Tesco for meds for me at 1am in the morning. Finally got in bed at 5am but was up at 7am with the children.

Gonna stop taking the co-codomal and just take paracetamol every 4 hours instead, will have to put up with the pain in my boobies.

Anyway I am feeling better today minus a 2 nights sleep, things can only get better ah!. My left boobie keeps giving the burning sensation but I am hoping this is normally.

Just looking forward to the end result now spent so much time worrying about everything they dont really feel part of me yet. Hopefully now they will!

Glad you're getting all the 'boobie pain' sorted Chelle, I can sympathise with 'the other' atm as I'm going through the same myself! OUCH! :tears:

I am suffering with the other as well and it is so annoying! Drank this awful tea today that was supposed to help and it has done nothing!
The burning sensation is normal I think, well my boobs have had it anyway.
