Ribcage/band size?
Any bra fitting expert girlies out there? Is the ribcage where your bra band sits, so usually a 32 band means you are a 27" ribcage? Plus is a girl who wears a 28 band really have a 28" ribcage? x

Re: Ribcage/band size?
I thought that too about ribcage size....I was wearing a 32 band for years but both times i have been measuered they say i should only wear a 28/30 back.
Have you been measured Nads? Cause you have a bit smaller stats than me. xx

Not professionally yet hun, but it seems different places have different methods and will therefore come up with different sizes. Alot think if your ribcage is 28" you should wear a 28 band whereas others say add on a few inches or something, its all to me lol xxx

Re: Ribcage/band size?
I know, personally a 32 band is tight enough! I couldnt imagine wearing a 30/28 but then i wonder if they are actually them same as girls with small stats like me fit in them....
Re: Ribcage/band size?
Its weird maybe the band sizes in the larger ranges get slightly bigger.
Its funny cause you dont see 28a/b but as soon as you reach D or higher cup sizes smaller backs are more common. You would think it would work the other way round? x

Re: Ribcage/band size?
I got measured recently twice in different shops both times I was told I should wear a 30" maybe even a 28" and I was like what?
Some of the bras I tried however fit really nicely others I couldnt even breathe in tho LOL
I am still wearing my old faithful 32" sports bras - I dont think I am ever take them off its like a comfort blanket.
What was the point in my BA?
xx

I did it right too, measured 27 underbust and 32 overbust = 32A! It does say its only a guideline though x
Re: Ribcage/band size?
That's about the most accurate bra measuring chart i've seen so far. When i got measured i was told i was i was between a 34dd and 34e ( my measurements come mid way between the 2 sizes ) and i've just come out a 34e on the chart

Ooops
Now it did mine right, 30 under bust 38.5 over = 34dd/34e.

Re: Ribcage/band size?
I think they're all a bit hit and miss. I've measured everything from a c cup upto a f using the same measurement but a different calculator.
Little wonder most women wear the wrong bra size.

Re: Ribcage/band size?
Its confusing but i dont go by the adding a few inches rubbish. I measure 26/27 under bust so i wear a 28 back. Makes perfect sense to wear the back size the same as your under bust measurement. Why add inches on?

Re: Ribcage/band size?
I thought you were supposed to measure and then add 4 inches...don't understand why either!
