length of time for consultation
Hey girlies,
I have my first consultation tomorrow with mr Singh at the London clinic, my appointment is at half 5, however I have rung them to rearrange as I was worrying I would be late as I dont finish work till half 4 and have decided to take the train, driving in to london at that time will be manic. Anyhow they have told me that he will wait around for me if i was slightly late, but was told he finishes at 6 and that would mean i would get 20 mins to half an hour with him. I have written a list of questions ready for tomorrow and am worried that its going to be rushed. I want to be able to ask all my questions and for him to advise me about sizes e.t.c. Just wondering from all of your experiences how long you should have for your consultations with the surgeons. Or am I just being to paranoid and panicking lol
Thanks girls

Re: length of time for consultation
I moved this here so you would get more answers hun and its a general question :)
I think 30mins is good for a first consult, mine was about 45mins and i got measured, tried on implants and my ps went through the procedure, risks etc you can always have another consult after. If you feel it will be too rushed just tell them you want another day x

Re: length of time for consultation
My first consultation lasted for around 30 mins and as nads said I got measured and tried on implants. Although he was really thorough I still went away and didnt take in as much as I`d have liked too. I booked a second one with him just so I could try the implants again and make sure it was the size I wanted and just to go through a few things which I had forgot the answers to. Although when he seen me again he looked slightly confused as to why I was back again a week later, I just wanted to feel sure about what i was doing, afterall its a big decision, if you feel rushed...go back and see him again!! Afterall your paying a lot of money for his expert advice,
Good Luck xxxxxx

Re: length of time for consultation
I didn't actually check how long my first consultation lasted exactly, but I guess as well between 30 and 45 minutes, I also got measured, tried implants, discussed options and went through risks etc. I was the last consult of the day but I didn't feel rushed and my surgeon did not spring out of the door as soon as his home time came - he waited until we were finished. I'm sure Mr Singh will do the same. It's more than likely he will be 5 or 10 mins late himself with the patient before you anyway, and so will make up for the time.
Plus it's very common to go for a second consultation (I did as I thought of more questions after the first time) or even a third, so I wouldn't worry, anything that doesn't come up the first time you will have time to ask later! you can also phone the surgeon if your follow up questions don't ned a re-measuring and you live a bit far.

Re: length of time for consultation
Hiya, my first app with the 1st surgeon i saw lasted 5mins then i was rushed out of the door to see the PC!!!! He didnt explain anything, wrote in my notes that he had covered all complications etc, which he hadn and didnt even measure me!!
My 2nd consult with the surgeon i went with lasted about 25mins, he measured me, went through everything, asked if i had any questions then recommended the implant sizes. I then went to see the PC again who gave me the sizes he recommended and told me to take my time trying them on. The whole thing took abou 1 hour.
I dont think time matters really as long as you feel everything has been covered and that you have had chance to ask everything you want to.

Re: length of time for consultation
Not long arrived home from the mya clinic in london, saw mr singh for about half an hour, he said i had tubular breasts? but apparently it is not serious. I was like 'Oh please dont tell me I cant get it done!!! lol he said it would be fine thank god!!! however because of this I have to go over the muscle and hes suggested 420cc or 450cc its up to me. He talked me through the complications and risks, measured me and made me try a bra on with different implants. I didnt feel rushed at all and he made sure all the questions I had were asked. Oh hes so lovely lol After, Nadia then talked to me and asked me if i had any further questions or concerns, she was really really lovely and really reassured me. Even more excited now, really like mr singh but keep telling myself I have to wait to see what the other surgeons say at their consultations first lol im soo impatient i want boobies nowwwwwww lol

Re: length of time for consultation
Great hun, glad it went well sounds like a good consult I saw another surgeon too even though i had a fab first consultation but went with who i felt most comfortable with and who i felt could give me the result i was after xxx
Re: length of time for consultation
glad it went well and he didn't make you feel rushed. He is a nice guy with lots of boob experience obviously. I wasn't going to go and see another surgeon though after my first ps meet but I am so glad I did as the 2nd one seem much more pro and definite about what I needed doing. I felt far more confident of his abilities. So its good advice to see someone else even if you can't be bothered and just want asap!! Even if its just to reassure you that Mr Singh is THE MAN!! Good luck with it - and remember you could make a provisional booking with Mya and cancel if you found some other amazing ps couldn't you??? I am no expert mind.......
