Re: Don't feel good at all!
Hey lea, hope your healing well hun!
Yeah have just drank some peppermint tea and had 4 ginger biscuits so fingers crossed it will stay down! Quite enjoyed them ginger biccys,, thanks misf1!
I'vebeen told 2 weeks too for sleeping propped up, god it's awful isn't it, my lower backs hurting already and my legs as I keep waking up with my legs bent! Thanks goodness for the V-pillow!
I've stuck a big piece of bright card on the wall with the next 14 dates on it and i'm crossing the days off as they pass, makes me feel better seeing the days visually, especially as I just want this sickness to end too!
Yeah it does take time, I think we just have to be patient and soon enough (like everyone else) we too will be fine!
Big hugs x x

Re: Don't feel good at all!
I haven't taken my bra off, am too scared and have just felt really poorly the last few days. Mybreast rang the other day and the lady said not to take it off before seeing my ps on Monday. Have looked at them through my bra thou.
They just feel like 2 HUGE pointy tornados at the minute they feel really tight, especially when I walk, I keep holding them as i'm walking, feel like they are about to fall off, very strange but normal apparently.
Getting the odd twinge too, not in both boobies at the same time thou. One time it will be in the left and then in the right one later.
Haven't looked under the dressing, covering the incisions, too scared too! Will wait till Monday I think.
Glad yours are healing well hun, when your first check up? x x

Re: Don't feel good at all!
Sorry you are feeling rough chick. The first week is the worst and youll start feeling much better after that. Have you tried alternating Ibruprofen with Paracetamol for the pain?

Re: Don't feel good at all!
Thanks anne
Yeah just counting down the first 7 days, hopefully it will start to ease up a bit after this time. Jsut want to get this weekend out of the way!
No haven't tried taking Ibruprofen, scared to take any other painkillers apart from paracetamol, in case they make me sick even more as I'm taking paracetamol quite often on an empty stomach due to the sickness.

Hmm.... you should take Ibruprofen with food but a milky type drink or biscuit is enough. Aw poor you feeling sick is the worst.
I remember feeling really low and sick the first week I hardly ate and lost lots of weight but I soon turned the corner and felt good again almost overnight!

Re: Don't feel good at all!
Sure you've either tried similar or better now! BUT, migraleve has an anti-nausea pill in the box and it works!!
Other than that you may want to take something to reduce stomach acid, your OH being a GP is a real bonus though as hopefully you don't feel completely out on a limb and unable to contact anyone.
Or a different tac, homeopathy or natural medicine may work so have found and copied the following
Nausea and Anaesthetics
If you experience nausea from the anaesthetic, you can drink grated ginger tea and wear a magnet or use acupressure on the acupuncture point PC6[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] (three finger widths/2 inches above the inner wrist crease in the center of your arm between the two tendons). A meta-analysis (collection of research) on acupuncture/acupressure for postoperative nausea and vomiting found that acupuncture/pressure resulted in prevention equivalent to standard antinausea drugs[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].
If you are spacey and disoriented after anaesthetic or craving cold and carbonated drinks, use homeopathic Phosphorus 30CH – 2 pellets once daily for up to 3 days. If you are nauseous persistently, vomiting, or feel aggressive post surgery, use homeopathic Nux Vomica/Collubrina 30CH – 2 pellets once daily for up to 3 days. All homeopathic pellets should be dissolved under the tongue away from food. Homeopathic remedies act as messages to the body asking the body to self-correct. Connect with a naturopathic doctor or experienced homeopath for more information on homeopathy.
Herbs can be taken after surgery to encourage liver detoxification and clear out the anaesthetic. Milk thistle can be used in a capsule or tincture – for capsules use 150-200 mg three times daily and for tincture use 60 drops twice daily. Milk thistle is one of the few herbs that is better to take in capsule form because not all active constituents are water soluble. You may also find a good liver combination that includes herbs such as dandelion, beet root, artichoke or tumeric in addition to the milk thistle. Do not take liver herbs if you are dependent on medications that are effective only at a narrowly defined range (narrow therapeutic window), because the herbs can increase detoxification and clearance of medications. All herbs are best absorbed when taken away from food.
Good Luck, hope it helps or better still you are ok now and the abov isn't relevant xx

Re: Don't feel good at all!
Aw sorry to hear you're having a rough ride, hope you're feeling better today . I was 5 or 6 days post op before I started to feel remotely human again.
If the sickness is still bothering you then the other option is an anti-sickness medicine in suppository form . Prob not a welcome solution either but I can't imagine how sore you must be vomiting with new boobies .

Re: Don't feel good at all!
Hi FG, reading your post this morning took me back to my first week. I felt absolutely awful, luckily I was only sick a couple of times, but I couldn't eat and had that yucky sickly feeling all the time. I felt really down and quite tearful. Luckily hun you do come out at the other side, for me it was the Sunday, just after finishing the antibiotics. When I saw Mr L on the Monday and told him how bad I'd been he said it was the antibiotics.
So I'm hoping when you read this you'll be feeling much better
lots of hugs hun.

Re: Don't feel good at all!
Sorry to hear you are feeling so bad FG! I must admit I hadn't even thought about being sick after a GA and now I am start to get a little worried. I have had one before (emergency c-section) and remember feeling a little odd afterwards.
Is sickness normal or do just some people suffer?
You don't regret having them done do you FG?

Re: Don't feel good at all!
Hi girls,
Sorry for the late reply, I haven't been on since my post (not like me at all ) I've just felt so ill the last few days. Well, I think I may be turning a corner as today is the first day that I haven't been sick or felt nauseous since last Monday OMG I can't tell you how good that feels!
My OH has been fab he really has, bless him he has made me try a few different things but everytime I tried anything, within 15 mins I was sick! The worst was that it was just water and bile (sorry for the detail!) as stomach has been empty. Weighed myself today, not good, I was 7 stone 2 when the nurse weighed me on Monday and I was 6 stone 13 today! I always lose weight when i'm ill thou, hopefully now the sickness has gone I will put the weight (and a bit more) back on. Bring on the pizzas and burgers soon I say!!! My OH also bought me these rehydration drinks and complan to help get my strength back up, I'm sure I will be as right as rain very soon!
I think tbh I've just been really unlucky, and so the other day I just made up my mind to just "ride the storm". I'm definately over the worse of it now thank goodness. Not everyone gets sick so I think my bodys just reacted to the GA and the meds not very well.
I hope I haven't scared the pre-op girls, wasn't sure I should be telling you guys all this. Like I said it has just been bad luck for me, and throughout the whole thing even when I felt my worst, I can honestly say I DID NOT once regret having my BA, oh no!!! If I'm honest looking down and seeing my fabulous was the only thing that kept me positive and at the end of the day knowing that this would soon pass and then I can enjoy my new
Thanks to all you girlies offering support and well wishes, it really means a lot x x x x x x x x x x x
