Don't feel good at all!
Hey girls,
Okay so if you've read my boobie day story, you will know that I had my op on Monday just gone and I didn't take to the GA very well. Well, it's 4 days now and I still feel really awful, I can't seem to keep anything down, i'm literally forcing myself to eat something so that I can take my meds but to no avail.
I had a really bad night last night to the point where I just sat propped up in bed awake most of the night, I just couldn't get comfortable at all as every position I lay in my boobies were feeling stretched and then they hurt so just didn't sleep at all. I'm only able to take paracetamol at the moment as I am neuseous all the time and am being sick at least twice a day. I have co-cordimol and tramadol but my OH won't let me take them as I'm being sick and taking such stronger painkillers will make me more sick, especially as I can't keep any food down at the minute. I am getting twinges in my boobies, and the paracetamol doesn't seem to be working all that well!?
I keep thinking i'm getting better but then I get neusea again and sickness, it's really getting me down as I feel so weak. I'm taking anti-sickness tablets twice a day but due to being sick they are not staying down long enough to work!
Did anyone else feel like this, I mean how long is this feeling going to last? I'm losing weight too which I don't want to, as I'm already very petite anyway and I'm so worried if this continues my implant will be visible! I really am trying to eat, but this awful neusea won't go
Also how long do I have to sleep propped up, my back and legs are hurting too, god I just feel such a mess at the minute.
Any advice would be appreciated....Thanks ladies! x x x x x x x

Re: Don't feel good at all!
Are you taking antibiotics, they could be making you sick? It could also be the GA as it does take time to get out of your system. Lots and lots of water will help flush it out.
Re: Don't feel good at all!
Is there any way you could go in and have them give you a shot for the sickness? I know you cant do needles but it seems like (other than waiting it out) it would be the only thing to make your sickness go away. Then once you had it under control you could take the tablets yourself before the sickness had a chance to kick in again? Not sure if that's an option but if it were I would consider it! But losing a couple pounds from sickness isn't too terrible just think you'll be able to suck down all your favorite treats while recovering (once sickness wears off) without any guilt haha! I would be chowing down loads of mac n cheese if I had a few lbs to gain :P Hugs hunnie I'm so sorry you're feeling so lousy :(

Re: Don't feel good at all!
Yeah taking antibiotics 3 times a day, the ones the hospital gave me. Are these necessary, I thought I had to take them? Should really try and drink more water, am drinking quite a bit, but maybe I should be drinking more.
I've also been sucking on ice lollys, oranges, haribo sour sweets to help with the nausea, is there anything else you suggest I try hun?
Thanks misf1! x x

Re: Don't feel good at all!
I didn't feel great after my op either FG. I've just read back through my blog and I think I was just over a wekk post-op before I started feeling better, and 10 days post-op before I felt well enough to go for a little walk up the road... You WILL get better hun. I know you feel pretty rotten right now, but each day, you'll get that bit stronger.
Re: Don't feel good at all!
I'd go to your Dr's and get different antibiotics as these are what is prob making you sick hun. As for sickness ginger biscuits or ginger tea, peppermint helps too.
Re: Don't feel good at all!
Thanks fawn, yeah did have that option of an injection whilst I was in hospital and my OH keeps telling me to have it, but I am so petrified of needles and since it has been a few days now, i'm thinking this neasea and sickness can't last much longer!
Maybe I should just try stopping all meds and just drinking lots of water, maybe just have paracetamol for the twinges and that's it. I will ask my OH and see what he says.
God I just want to go to asleep and wake up feeling better x x

Thanks so much cookie, I know I just have to be patient, it's horrible thou as each day I start to feel better but then soon enough the sickness and nausea come flooding back! I suppose I'm only 4 days post op, but I just don't know how I could possibly feel any worse than I do now. x x

Yeah may have to do that, see my GP and get the antibiotics changed. Right will get mum to get me some ginger biscuits in the morning (don't like ginger but right now I will try anything!) and I'm now going to have a peppermint tea, good job I have some at home already! x x

Re: Don't feel good at all!
Hi Hun ,
I had sickness really bad but got all the anti sickness injections done as i went into my op so it covered me fore when i came around!
But like you i had sickness for days afterward so I went to my G.P who was very understanding & he prescribed me Metochlopramide Hydrochloride 5 mg oral solution. its a very strong anti-sickness liquid you take by mouth & its really good & also used for people who suffer from sickness as a effect from keymotherapy (cant spell it)
It started to work for me straight away as its strong stuff & it will really help you so ring ya g.p & ask them to prescribe it for you.
Hope you feel better soon

You can also get anti-sickness tablets that you don't swallow but just put under the gum and your body absorbs it that way. But I guess your OH knows all this ... other than that you might just have to sweat it out, but like you say, it really can't be much longer now.

No worries hun
Arrowroot is primarily used to soothe an uneasy stomach and alleviate diarrhea or nausea and vomiting . Since it contains calcium and carbohydrates as well as other nutrients, arrowroot is also used as an easily digested source of nutrition for infants, people recovering from illnesses and those on restricted diets. The herb is considered easier on the stomach than other forms of starch.
You can get the biscuits in any supermarket babe and they will help hun. xxx

The anti sickness tablets that you put under your upper lip on your gum was the first one he made me have, the taste made me violently sick the first day so I scrapped them! Even the thought of putting one there again, makes me sick! It tasted so bitter and awful, worse than the taste of paracetamol and that's horrible!
I prefer the ones you swallow, just wish they would stay down long enough to work!
Like you say hun, I think it is the case of just riding the storm! x x
