Rice bags vs Unders - Help!!!

Bit of a weird topic, I'll try and wxplain what I'm asking....

I am obsessing about 240/275 and trying ricebags on constantly.

I think I have heard that with unders it will look smaller after the op thaan it does when you're trying on the ricebags/implants "on top of your boobs".

Is this true?

Because if it is, I deffo want the 275, they're a little bit on the biggish side now. But if they "fluff" the 275 will be too big (I think).

Mine are 265 and I ended up getting partial unders if that helps. I have no idea if they will fluff but i def think they will fill up at the bottom a bit. With total unders what I hear is that they look smaller to start with and they are supposed to fluff, but people with total unders would be the best to answer.
Do you have your pre-op pics? maybe we could take a look and help you decide. Has your surgeon advised one size over the other? What's your BWD and how wide are the implants? All of this makes a difference i think.

I have 275 mods and they are full at the bottom. Rice boobies will obviously look bigger as theres not skin/glands/muscle covering it and its not inside your bod so i would deduct about 10-15% off the rice, its not a really accurate way but it gives you a general idea xxx

I asked my surgeon if it's true that you lose 15% with unders (which is what everyone on SoFem seems to say..) & he said no, if anything, you GAIN 10-15%.

With regards to the rice-test, it's really not very accurate, mine definitely look smaller now than when I did the rice-test.

Sorry, I'm not being much help. Defo go with your surgeon's opinion, based on the result you've told him you're after... he's the expert!

Three surgeons has told me that it is actually quite accurate,Blondebarbie, even if the end result will be different in shape etc. They actually recommended that I try the bags with clothes etc. I think I trust them.

I don't get how I could gain with unders?
The ricebags is sitting on the outside and there is some "air" between my boobs and the edge of the bag? (if that makes sense..)
When there is implants inside, the implant should be slightly squeezed? and there will of course be no "air" between...

I think the idea is that the muscle acts as extra tissue so you end up gaining more tissue as well as your implant. I'm really not sure whether this would be 10-15% in everyone though... like the girls say boobs aren't an exact science :)

But the muscle is already there? It changes position, but it doesn't get bigger? I am totally confused!
This is why I want to see my surgeon sooner than the 19th!

I know what you mean hun, only when they displace the muscle and put it over the implant it becomes part of the boob as apposed to just the chest wall, does this make sense?

I think talking with the surgeon will definitely make put your mind at rest hun, see what you can do x

i had the same surgeon as MrsMartini and he said the same to me. I found that my boobs are bigger that the rice test and i feel they also look bigger then when i tried on the actual implant ??????????????????

I am never gonna be able to make this decision! I'll just have to flip a coin.....

Honestley i think you should go for the 275cc. You do lose 15% of the size when you have unders, if you were having overs id say have the smaller size.

The reason you gain with unders is because there is normally alot more fluffing going on then there is with overs, hope this makes sense? x

I think the reason my rice test looked bigger, is that I was shoving the rice boob in my bra at the front, on top of what I already had. I think I basically gave myself rice-ultra-high-profiles. In reality, I had moderate high profile, which has a wider diameter & gave me some side-boob... so they're gonna look different! I prefer the real boobs to the rice boobs though!!

I honestly don't think it's our place to say "go for the xxx size" as it's such a personal choice & everyone's results differ so much, even with the same stats & implant size.

If it's not possible to see your surgeon sooner than the 19th, can you see your patient coordinator, talk it through with her & try on the implants again?

The surgeon at my consultation said to me that the muscle they put over the implant is only 0.5 cm thick. So I don't get how that could add an awful lot to the size, if you get unders?

I'm not to keen on speaking to my PC, if you read my thread on Inspira sizes, you'll see why...
Gonna call her on monday and ask for a phoneconsult with SW before the 19th though.

I haven't checked phone consult yet, will do on monday. I would like to speak to him about the sizes and then have a few days to think about it. He said I could have 240 or 265, and looking at the catalogue, 265 doesn't seem to come in the moderate profile, so I would like to have it clarified.

I am giving them over 4k, and I'm slightly disappointed with my PC, she doesn't get back to me when she says she will, and when she gave me the appiontment I was kinda hesitant by it being so late, I feel that she could have offered a phone consult at least before that...

I understand, Tez was my pc too and took alot of time off! Sometimes i would call and just get a viocemail, i would call Pinky instead though who was great x

My PC also offered me a final consult one week before the op but when I insisted that I wanted it 2 weeks before magically she found a way to squeeze me in - when I went there I found that I wasn't "squeezed" at all and the the surgeon had loads of time for me - so don't necessarily listen to what the Pc says, somewhat I get the impression they have their own agenda or they simply haven't checked properly....
If not possible at all, you should definitely insist on your phone consult hun, after all it won't take him too long to clarify on the available sizes and at least you will have something to think about before your final consult and more specific questions to ask.

Yes, she isn't too available....I'll speak to her on monday (if I can get hold of her) and ask if there if I can at least get a phone consult.
I'm looking at the sizes available in Soft Touch and Responsive gel, and I guess the most important thing is the diameter and my breastwidth? I don't actually remember my breastwidth so it would be good to know it and to hear his view of how much I can go above it if at all. He said I had the choice between 265 and 240 (that must be full proj) and said he would prefer if I went for 240. I would like to know why, is it the breastwidth or that the final result would be too big on my frame? I told him that I wanted a very natural result, and that's why he said the 240.
However, it's important to me that the breast itself looks natural and not like Posh's, but if they size looks slightly bigger than I would have naturally I can kinda live with that.

I felt like you and knew i had to have another consult before my op to clarify a few things and it really helped.

I went for 275 mods as i was very flat and didnt want the posh spice look either and my ps said i could get a nice result from this. I have a lovely slope considering how flat i was. My ps recommended mods over full projection as i had no upper pole tissue

Just wanted to add that once my pc was a bit unhelpful with a second consultation time so I rang my surgeon's private clinic direct and got one easy as pie! I think a certain amount of slots are given to the companies, when in actual fact the surgeon has more than that available.

Good luck making the decision. In the end I just went with what my surgeon suggested (255g anatomical unders)...I was worried they would be small but actually they're slightly bigger than I wanted....but still great!

I actually have some tissue, mainly at the upper pole...a bit freaky :)
I thought I was gonna have the mods since I really don't want the posh look, but now it seems like SW is planning full proj for me?
