Please explain fluffing
This will sound stupid I know ...but can somebody explain 'fluffing' to me, and is it really acknowledged as something (whatever it is) by Plastic Surgeons, or is it just something that patients say??

Re: Please explain fluffing
I think a surgeon would not acknowledge the term, they would probably just say it was the implant settling or something.
I see fluffing as, when you initially have the breast augmentation the implants can sit quite high on your chest no matter whether you have overs/partials or full under the muscle placement. They are very firm during this time. Over the weeks and months the skin stretches and the muscle relaxes (if partial or under placement) the implants drop into a more natural looking position and the breast softens for a more natural feel. During the course of these changes which can seem to happen overnight or over a few days on some occasions where they seem to be high one day and the next one or both implants seem to change all of a sudden. The changes can result in fluffing also known as a sudden increase in bra size, one day your bra fits perfect the next it's uncomfortable or leaving red marks over the cups. It can take a year or so to see the full and final result of a BA. So sometimes they don't seem to change for a few months and you think they are done, then your bra becomes tight and you've fluffed up another size.

Thanks for explaining. I didn't think it was 'officially recognised' but I appreciate what you are saying and it makes more sense now.

I didn't think much of this until one night I slept without a bra on and I swear my boobs grew about a cupsize overnight!

Yeah, I know. Mine improved in size, shape AND softness as soon as I stopped wearing a bra for a while - especially at night. I rarely wear one at all now as they look so fab without. I spoke to my PS and she said they'd be fine with or without now 'cus they ain't going nowhere baby!! lol.

I don't feel like I've fluffed yet, perhaps I need to stop wearing my sports bra at night (dh will be pleased ).
