When's safe to wear a bra ??
Im a little over 3 weeks post re-aug to correct extensive wound breakdown from a mastopexy I had back in July last year.
My incision sites are looking ok (so far) and the pain is almost totally gone now,
Which beg's the question, when can I blow the dust off my bra's and start wearing them again?? Im getting a little tired of the sports bra scenario now, and I dont see my PS again for another 10 weeks, so i was hoping some of you ladies could give me a little insight as to when is recommended, or when was it you returned to wearing one again??
Many thanks in advance.....

Re: When's safe to wear a bra ??
I'm only just in normal bras now after a mastopexy so I was 10 weeks post-op! But that was because I had a few problems with my wounds closing too.
Had I been OK, I would hav been fine to wear normal bras after 6 weeks, given that all was OK with my boobs.
Sorry that probably wasn't what you wanted to hear hun, but especially with a mastopexy, you want to put as little pressure as possible on those new scars to avoid them stretching. xxx

Cookie I totally understand and deep down i thought id better to be acting on the side of caution, especially as you highlight the fact weve suffered with scars more than most.....
I wore bras 3-4 wks following my mastopexy and i often wonder if that is what contributed to the breakdown, but i guess il never know for sure.
Waiting a few more weeks to ensure things remain intact is a small price to pay on the whole....Thanks Cookie xx

No worries hun. Really really glad to hear you're doing well this time after all you've been through and that you're now almost pain free!
Re: When's safe to wear a bra ??
Ay its a nice feeling, but more so to be dressing free!! Since my op back in july 6th 2009, i have endured dressing changes 3-4 times daily, 3-4 Hospital checks weekly, this lasted til they finally closed 6 months later!!!
So just to have them closed (and hopefully remain so) is marvellous!!
Heres to complete healing Cookie !! and long may it continue xx
