Rippling or rupture??
Hi Ladies,
I was just getting into the bath tonight and as I lent forward I was about to itch the inside of my cleavage and I felt something really strange on my left boobie. It's really hard to describe but it feels like the implant as a dint in it and when I run my fingers over it feels lumpy. I'm a bit worried that it has ruptured but after reading some of the other posts it seems more like it is rippling. Can anyone tell me if you can feel if the implant as ruptured or if you are in pain if it does?
I'm not in no pain and can't feel the dint/lumps when I'm stood up straight. Do you think I should make an appointment with my surgeon??
Thanks
Kerry

Re: Rippling or rupture??
hey Kerry
It sounds like rippling to me. I get it on the outsides of my boobs when I lean forward. If you're worried, though, it might be worth speaking with your surgeon.

I have this feeling too in exactly the same place like ridges and dints. I know how you feel because if I think about it rationally I know its just rippling but I sometimes let a little doubt creep in re ruptures. Maybe someone is out there to reassure us both but Im pretty sure its just rippling and absolutly nothing to worry about.

Re: Rippling or rupture??
Definately sounds like rippling to me hunni. xxx
My rupture did cause some pain, like that of a torn muscle and also the breast was visibly different, when I lay on my back, it fell completely to the side instead of staying up like my other one.
Hope this helped babe. xxx

Re: Rippling or rupture??
No worries girls, really glad I could help. From my own experience you can't 'feel' a rupture at all, my surgeon said my implant was completely torn but just feeling it, it didn't actually feel any different to me, so I surprised to hear the extent of the damage to be honest... And just incase anyone misses the early signs (I did, I ignored the pain as I genuinely thought I'd pulled a muscle and never even noticed how the breast fell until after the diagnosis, it was only then that I 'looked for signs'), as time went on the breast size increased to about 3 times the size of the other, it was really obvious there was something very wrong.
Re: Rippling or rupture??
Thanks for that Cookie xx
I have exactly the same thing on the inside of my left xx there is a definite dip in the implant like it's got a dent in the implant xx much more noticeable when I bend forward can't even see it when stood normally xx I was going to post a little message to James this morning but after reading this i feel a bit better and am almost positive it's a bit of rippling xx
I only found it about 2 weeks ago.......
Thanks girlies xx

Re: Rippling or rupture??
yes it definately sounds like rippling to me hunny and i get it in the same place when i lean forward too.
ive had this with all 3 of my b/a's in the same place and i'm used to it now it doesn't bother me.
i think most girls will see or feel rippling when they are in certain positions so i wouldn't worry hun.

Re: Rippling or rupture??
I also have this but i can now feel it when im standing up. I had my op nearly 5 months ago. I can also feel what i can only describe as an air bubble just around my nipple . I am really worried as my right boob was the longest to heal and still dont feel a part of me. I can feel a sort of fuzzy feeling sometimes aswell. I really hope its nothing serious as i waited so long for this op i really dont want to have to go through it all again as the reccovery was horriffic and thats compared to giving birth to 3 children lol.

Re: Rippling or rupture??
i too have rippling worse in my right one,but only if i lean over.its almost like fingers have left indents around the outer edge.i have lost about 4 lbs since the op(didnt want to) and think this is why its so noticable now.(was always scrawny on top even when i was a size 14,now a size 8 and even scrawnier)i'd love to put 1/2 stone as the extra weight is supposed to camoflage the rippling.but i have found that if i put my shoulders back more when leaning it isnt so bad

Re: Rippling or rupture??
I can feel ripplin on the bottom half of my implants when i lean forward too. Mine is worse wher my scars are so i think some of the lumpiness is scar tissue too. it's weird to and makes me feel a bit bleeeurrgh so i don't feel it often!!!!

Re: Rippling or rupture??
I have the same thing, i've had rippling ever since day 1 almost as hav very little breast tissue. I have a bubble around the top of the nipple, it feels like rippling but is a constantly there (worse when leaning forward) but can feel it standing up. I've had pain in it for 7 months now but getting increasingly worse and swelling when i feel it. Ive been 2 surgeon twice and told the implant is fine and it must be hormonal! Ultrasound didnt show anything :( the implant now seems to move strangely more flexible almost. Hope the feeling has eased and you have no pain xx
