Feel down after rupture :(
Hi ladies,
This is the first time I've posted on here, but I do post on the general board.
My brief story is that I've had a confirmed rupture from an ultrasound in my left boob. I've only had the implants since March 2011, so around 2 years and a half.
Anyway, I noticed today that the left boob is now looking saggy compared to my right. It sags when i lie on my back which is how I noticed in the first place, but today I stood up and looked in the mirror when topless and I noticed the left is now hanging lower than the right.
I'm really worried I'm going to have to have an uplift now.
I feel like crying about all of this. Initially, I didn't mind too much as I couldn't really tell, but it's getting worse in the space of a month and I'm scared I'm going to end up with botched boobs.
The skin elasticity in my boobs isn't great as I breastfed for 2 years, and went from a 30a to a 32DD then to a 30aaa. I don't think they can cope with much more unsupported weight in them (I have unders).
I'm also getting alot of numbness and tingling in my left arm and aching pain in my left boob. It's just drawing attention to something I'd rather forget about at the moment.
I am seeing my surgeon tomorrow lunchtime, and I'm scared of what he's going to say.
Sorry, I just needed to offload a bit, and i felt bad putting this on the general board as I don't want to scare any ladies there.

Awwww how rubbish for you, no wonder you are feeling down. The thing is we never think it is going to happen to us.
The only person who is going to be able to answer your questions is your surgeon, and I hope your consultation goes well tomorrow.
That's what the forum is here for, sharing experiences and having a moan, nothing wrong with that

Really hope your consultation goes well and you get your journey underway! It's horrible your in this position after such a little time but at least you are covered by aftercare still,, it's important to see the other side of having implants and the risks involved xx

Re: Feel down after rupture :(
Thank you ladies. I feel awful today. Really low and sad about it all. I can't take time off work for recovery and I have no one to drive my children to school as i've just used up all my favours as i had a laparoscopy last week...
:( I'm freaking out that there's going to be further complications. Sorry for the whinge, can't talk to anyone else about it as I kinda feel like it's my fault for having it done in the first place... xx

It's not whinging, you are having a tough time at the moment. You will cope, try not to overthink everything until after your consultation when you have all the facts x

Oh its so stressful :( Its horrible worrying about working when your body is more important!
I think its very normal I imagine how you are feeling because we choose to have this surgery! However it isn't your fault, you have only had them two years and deserve to have new ones xx

Re: Feel down after rupture :(
Ohhhh sweetie c'mere
Having a rupture is super stressful! None of us ever plans to be 'the one' who gets to have an early rupture and when it does happen its actually devastating.
The reaction to the rupture is only just starting so your skin still has a good chance of recovery babe, so please don't lose hope. You're already half way there now and it will just be a matter of arranging a date and getting the surgery done ASAP.
You will also be offered the option if going bigger too if this is something you might consider if there has been a little stretch to the skin on your breast. This will be a free option babe so don't worry about that.
Going bigger was never an option for me. I already felt too big and couldn't have the same sized implant replaced as it would have been like throwing a ball in a sock to quote the surgeon so 'my' only option was to have a lift to go smaller babe.
There are options babe, so do talk it through with your surgeon and remember if you'd like to go bigger this is a free possibility for both breasts for you. Xx

Aw Flowergirl sending you big hugs, sorry to hear of your rupture and that your understandably feeling down.
Hope your meeting with the surgeon has helped you feel more positive about the future hun.
Wishing you all the luck in the world for your re-op and recovery, I know this is a surgery we choose to undertake but you in no way deserve the rupture xx
