Getting a little ahead of myself Empty Getting a little ahead of myself

Post by fawn 29th January 2010, 11:29 pm

To begin with, I'm a planner by nature. I write lists, schedule out my day, and am a control freak. Since the day I have decided to have my breasts done (only a month or so ago) I have been researching and planning everything. I know exactly what I want - Mentor MemoryGel/smooth/round/moderate/300cc/submuscular/periareolar incision. I have planned out a budget to save enough for a hefty downpayment and let CareCredit lend me the rest. The catch?

I'm 21 and have to wait for my 22nd birthday to get silicone gel implants. In SEPTEMBER!!!!

How in gods name am I going to keep from going insane waiting 8 months?!

Yeah unfortunately I do :/ At first I figured I'd just go saline but I'm 5'6" and 118lbs with a very petite frame. My surgeon says that its better to go silicone since I have hardly any breast tissue and I want to look and feel as natural as possible. So now I have to wait an eternity lol

Aw hun, it's a shame you have to wait until your birthday in september, but the time will fly by. Also gives you time to save up for all the nice bras you will want to buy afterwards. It's good that you have planned everything, it's healthy to do lots of research first so I don't think you are getting too ahead of yourself

You could also be better off financially too if you plan it right.

You now have another 8 months to save for your surgery! Not sure if this will be enough to cut out the finance you needed to help pay for your new boobs but if not, you will have cut the loan right down by then and given yourself less to pay afterwards! xxx

This is true - I've already budgeted out my spending and if I set aside 300 dollars a month (on top of what I already have in the savings account) I will have about 2/3 the total cost. My monthly payment will then be around 150 a month or so!

How exciting! I'm like you, always writing lists and planning everything to finest detail. I have a boob job notebook, and it has all my notes and thoughts in it so I can always refer to it. Really useful about consults.
Dont worry about the 8 months I am sure it will go quickly and I am sure the thought of it will keep you going for all that time! I am having mine in just over 2 months and the thought of it is keeping me going. When I feel about down or tired I think about it and I'm like oooooh how exciting!
Lots of love

Aw I've got a loooong wait too, having a baby in July and then need to wait at least 3 months, so the earliest I can have my BA is October.

I've already thought so much about size and brands of implants, and what surgeons and companies I'm going to have consults with, I've been saving since January last year when my last daughter was born so I'll probably be able to just pay for it all upfront hopefully when the time comes, so that's one good thing.

It is frustrating to be so sure about something and just want to go ahead with it NOW, but have to wait. I feel your pain!

Yeah we're pretty much in the same boat, except I've already found a surgeon and everything. I'm so terribly impatient! Thats awesome that you've already been saving and will be able to pay for it all at once. I decided to have it and had a consult the next week and that was it! So I've only got 9 months total to save. I'm at the end of september so we'll be getting boobies around the same time :)

Awwwwwhat a shame hunni, but i'm sure the time will fly right by, just think you will be having it at the end of summer. It's almost spring so you don't have to wait that long.

Oooooo another list maker, I too make lists and stuff, well I pretty much make lists for everything! I have a boobie book, split into 3 sections, before the op (all my research, consults etc), Preparation and day of the op and finally Aftercare! I'm writing in it as I go along, it's helped me loads Getting a little ahead of myself 184153

Thats an excellent idea! I will stop by the dollar store today and pick up a notebook and do that myself. Perhaps a journal will help a bit with the anxiety :)
