I've edited the title for you hun. I bought a few bras, in a few cup sizes and a band size up from what I was wearing. My surgeon told me to buy a 34E so I bought a post op bra in that size (Z bra off the internet) then I bought a few sizes around that just in case, I went to asda and got a 36DD and D and a 34DD and D.

I go with this in mind -

I take the surgeons suggestion for my resulting size, for me that was a 32DD, so I buy a 32DD, I then also buy a 34DD just incase the swelling is more around the band area, I also then buy a 32E, just incase the swelling is more around the bust area, this way I cover every eventuality...

Oh and buy bra expanders too, you'll probably find these really helpful babe, I went up from a 32 band to a 36! so it's possible when you get home by day 3 which is generally when the swelling really kicks in you might find you need a larger bra again and the expanders will help releive that pressure. xx

i also bought some bra extenders cos the band size of my bras i bought were too small and my sis went all over to find me the bigger band size but coulldn't get any. i bought a 32 band bra and ended up having to wear 3 bra extenders on it but now i am down to 2 xx i got my bras from my local market, there all brand new as its a proper market not a flea market, xx

so asda sell sports type bras and they are fine for after op! tbh money is going to be pretty tight after the op ( although im borrowing it off my mum but want to pay her back asap) so i would pressume the asda ones are reasonably priced

shelly in ur avator is that the type of bra i will need just so i know what im looking for when i do go to buy ? x

Yes, Asda bras are fine, I would however stretch to a little more expense for one really good sportsbra if money is tight, although Asda sportsbras are OK, you'll feel the difference in support between those and a good one. xx

put it this way..i wouldnt do any exercise in an asda sports bra!!! they r ok for pottering around which is pretty much all you can do after the op anyway....but for actual exercise...shock absorber all the way!
ive bought a shock absorber, but its too bulky with straps going all over the place to wear day to day and to the co op for eg! But when i can start moving around more at that 6 week mark, i wont take it off!! xx

If you have a look at the grab a bargain section of the forum, I've posted a link to the house of frasier outlet shop on eBay which is selling the shockabsorber for £10.99 with postage, they usually cost around £27.

thanks hun ...

also so the bra needs to look sports bra like... no underwire and no padding anything else that it needs ... my family are always around so having it done up at front is not a biggy as they can be here within a minute if i wanted them to undo it x
