I'll have finished my anti-bs one week before my surgery, does anybody know if this will effect my chances of the surgery going ahead?

Hi cookie I wouldn't think so as they gave me antibiotics during surgery, but I was allergic to them. Hope you feel better and can get your op :flower:

Thanks Lis... yeah, I had anti-bs during my surgery last time too...

I'm hoping that as long as my chest is clear by then, that it wont matter about the anti-bs... can't find anything on the net though to reassure me.....

HI Cookie,

have you checked with your surgeon? I can't see it being a problem but they need to know if/what drugs your on at time of ba of course, however, you are not 'on them'....

Hey Katie, thanks for replying babe. x

No, I'll have finished the course the week before, but with being told not to even take a vitamin tablet two weeks before surgery, I'm a little concerned....

I have an appointment to see my surgeon on saturday, I'm thinking when he sees me like this though,Just one week before he's to operate, he won't operate... I would probably be better not seeing him and just asking advice over the phone, but I do need to see him to discuss a few concerns I have....

Oh well...... what will be will be I suppose......

Thank you!!!! That's sooooooo reassuring! x

Just spoken with nurse at Transform about my bloods and whilst I had her on the phone I asked about my chest and the anti-bs... she said I had to be clear for a full seven days before my op, I'll have finished tablets so just hope chest clears.
