scars, stitches, tape
right...
i am 6 west post op, and my scars are looking fine, although there is still a bit of dried blood on them and they are itching a little bit.
but last night i found a bit of the stitch, the actual "thread" still there. it came off easily but totally freaked me out.. has anybody else experienced this? mine were not disolvable and my surgeon removed them on day 5 post op.
also, he put tape over them and said that it was supposed to come off by itself. after 3 weeks it was still there and looking a bit dirty, so i took it off and replaced it with a clean microporal tape. i shower with it on about 3 times and then replace it. i'm just wondering how long to keep this tape on for?
i know i should contact my surgeon, which i have tried and with him being overseas and me at work it's hard to get hold off him. i have sent him an e-mail which i'm hoping he'll see soon enough...
how long were you told to keep the tape on?

Re: scars, stitches, tape
i m changing mine every day, but taking it off while in shower, so my scars get a breather, im still putting fresh tape on every time after i shower, after ive dried scars, im seeing my surgeon next week , so i ll ask if i still need to use the tape, tbh i like wearing it as it protects the scars from my bra digging in etc xxx

With mine i made sure my hands were as claen as possible(made them red washing them!) and changed the little dressings myself, you can get something similar to what the nurse puts on at the chemist.I wore them until i felt safe to remove them na dlike Fb says it helps protect them from your bras x
