hey katy!!
aww how sweet u mentioned me!! as u kno i had nothin before and was able to make good with what little I had!so im sure u wud be able too! lol well the impression im gettin from what u said, hopefully ive read it all correctly lol is tht ur def leaning towards having further surgery after cc has shown itself and settled back down and remove the remaining tissue and have another implant put in as you said, 'They have taken the lump out and the surrounding tissue is healthy.' Personally if ur odds are pretty much the same as havin radiotherapy or hormone treatment which seem to have horrible side effects etc then i wud settle for something that isnt going to cause u anymore discomfort u already have to go thro hun. But as said before it rele is ur choice at the end of day and u want to be happy wiv ur final decision, what does ur OH think? and cherry has given some great advice go with ur gut it will tell you what u rele think is best for yourself. keep strong love ur doin sooo well!! this horrible thing will be all over with soon:) take care! sendin my love hun! xxxxxxxxxxx

Re: December Buddies!
hello ladies,
thanks for such a prompt response from all of you you are a reliable lot!!!!
my gut reaction is to chicken out, do nothing and have very frequent ultrasounds to see if it comes back. I might be lucky and there is a good chance that it has been dealt with by surgery alone. If I'm unlucky and it comes back then I could opt to have more extensive surgery. As it stands there is no reason to suspect that I will get CC any more than the rest of you, but if I have radiotherapy it is a certainty. On the other hand if I do nothing and it comes back then it might spread and be more serious, in which case I might be better off having had more extensive surgery now. I am trying to be a grown up and put my long term health ahead of my looks but I can't help thinking that I might really regret either radiotherapy or more surgery when there is a reasonable chance that I might actually be ok as I am.
Cancer treatment is not what you expect, there is no cure, there are no hard and fast rules and everyones situation is different. When they say oh there are lots of different treatments nowadays its total balls... there are lots of frikkin horrible things they can do to you and you get to pick the least horrific according to how ill you are and what you are willing to let them do to you. Or if you are really unlucky and its spreading fast you get everything, chemo, radio and hormones. So in the scheme of things I am really really lucky that I have no chemo to contend with. The only reason I even have choices to make is because the boob job meant that I caught it really early so you must all check yourselves all the time and if you find a lump get it sorted really quickly, that way you still have options. If you pretend its not happening then you will end up with a bigger pile of poop to deal with.
Thankfully the good news for all of you is that there is less than 0.5% chance of being in my shoes if you are between 30-40 and even less chance of it in your 20's, though there is a girl of 26 in my clinic diagnosed the same day as me.
I am going to see the surgeon next week and see what he thinks he can do in terms of the end result of taking away the breast tissue. And I might speak to my ps and get his opinion on what he thinks I would look like with under the muscle implants (minus the breast tissue). If I do this I am going to go a bit bigger!!! he he boob greed kicking in :-)))
As for the hormone treatment I have pretty much decided that I am going to avoid it!! If I was 50 and post menopause I might go for it but not ready to turn into a middle aged woman just yet!!!
The photographer has not photoshopped my glamour pics yet. Might try to do it myself so I can upload them and you can all have a peek!!!
Have a lovely weekend in the meantime girlies and thanks again for responding so quickly

Re: December Buddies!
Ok the Glamour pics are retouched and ready to view!!!
Warning --- they do contain full frontal boob shots but my nether regions are out of view at all times so don't worry you are not about to get an eyeful of anything other than the best tits in town!!! :-)))
Picturetrail account is katyxox1 I will pm Chezza, Georgie, Alfie and Stephy the passwords now but if anyone else wants a peek just pm me.
I would also like to add that I don't take myself seriously at all and under normal circumstances would not have done such a self indulgent thing, but given the extreme circumstances I did have a really funny Gok inspired afternoon and it did really help. I saw the pictures, laughed my head of and though oh well I'll be ok even if they lop em off. Like most of you I expect, I have spent years picking apart my appearance and focusing on the bits I didn't like.
We are too hard on ourselves ladies.... have a photoshoot and you will feel a whole lot better too!!!

Re: December Buddies!
Thanks ladies!!! he he what you can't tell is that in most of them the mirror was really uncomfortable to lay on and they were blowing ice cold air at me and I was totally shivering from head to foot--- not very sexy at all!!! seriously though all those lads mags pics are totally photoshopped. I am just an average girl and they made me look amazing so don't be hard on yourselves, I have silvery stretch marks from my knees to my bum and lumps and bumps a plenty but you can't see any of it on the pics!!!

Thanks Cherry, unfortunately it's too tight now......there's probably a bit too much boob on show in it now, so I'll just have to treat myself to some new ones.
How you doing anayway, not noticed you on here for a while, hope everythings okay.
Hope the rest of the December girlies are doing okay as well.

Re: December Buddies!
oohh yes am liking cookies and alfies boobie pics they look ace !!!!
IF YOU GOT EM FLAUNT EM GIRLIES!!!! Am loving the polka dots!!!
I have my bandage off and have a 'frankenboob' issue going on now but slathering on the bio oil and trying to get on with it. It looks a bit like an uplift scar. Boob has shrunk too. Ho hum. Mind you my other scars are looking great two months on so I suppose I need to give it time its just that when its right in the middle of your boob you really see it. :-(((
How are the rest of you ladies getting on?? things settling nicely??
Hope so.
Went back to see the surgeon last week about taking away the breast tissue in order to avoid having radiotherapy. I thought it was going to be quite straighforward but he said he wanted to use tissue expanders and it would be 3 ops in total and that he thinks that even if I get cc from the radiotherapy it would be easier to correct that and potentially get a better result than rebuilding em from scratch. Have booked to see my transform ps again to get his opinion on the whole shebang. Not under any immediate pressure to start on radiotherapy so I have time to think it through still which is good.
I think the right decision will stand out when it comes to it, everytime I see someone else it changes my thoughts again.
I did treat myself to some new bras though hurrah!!!
love ya all

Re: December Buddies!
Hey Katy!
How you feeling hun? You are sounding very positive which is a good thing...keep it up.
Don't worry about the 'frankinboob' the scar will heal and fade, take this from an uplift lady, just keep slathering the oil on.
It's a good idea to go and see your Transform ps for another opinion hun, there really is alot to take in isn't there, I hope he give you the answers you're looking for, but like you say you'll probably know when the time comes what the best decision will be.
I'm doing fine hun, boobies are settling nicely. I think one is slightly more sloped than the other (does that make sense?) I'm wandering if that's how they'll stay now. Also some of my scars still look quite red and I'm wandering when they'll fade. You can't even see the scar from my nipple down though, so quite pleased about that. I see my surgeon again in April so I've got a few questions to ask him.
Remember Katy stay positive and keep smiling hun.
Big hugs

Re: December Buddies!
Cool thanks for that Alfie, I think it was mainly the shock of seeing myself for the first time with the plaster off. It made me a bit sad, but you are right, frankenboob is getting better gradually. I am just trying to think that in a year it will be fine and that I won't even think about it. Even for you it has not been very long in reality since the op. It just feels like a while ago now. I guess the pair of us just need to get our before pics out and remember our starting point!!! I still look loads better than I did before, and yours look bloody fab in that bra!!!
thanks for your support

Hey girls :wavey:
Alfie and katyox - My surgeon gave me some silicone sheets to use on my scarring called cica-care it helps flatten out the scar and take away the redness, I've only been using it for a week and I'm already see a difference so definately worth a try ladies if you're concerned about the scarring.

Re: December Buddies!
Hey Ladies!!!
Hope you are all enjoying your boobiewoobies???
Am fine, I have been using Cookies suggestion of silicone strips and ALL my scars (there are a few now :-((( ) are getting better. They are quite expensive £20 a pack but I cut them in half and one strip will do both the under boob scars quite well.
Starting six weeks of daily radiotherapy on Friday which I am dreading as its going to leave me with a massive red burn area and 70% chance of cc OOOOhhh lovely you say!!! I know, I can't wait (not.) The whole thing seems to be dragging on for ages but I know it will be sorted by the summer so just looking forward to then.
Plus as my boob has been quite reslilient so far I am hoping that the miracle boob will not get CC and that the burn area will go down after a while and I come the Autumn I will again look like I do now which is bloody ace even if I say so myself!! ;-)
I looked into reconstruction but they wanted to use tissue expanders etc with multiple op's so it was going to be a real faff.
The good news... is that I will be going to South Kensington every day for radiotherapy so at least its a nice place to be going every day!!
Bring on 28th May when its over hurrah!
Wishing you all the best ladies.... please send my boob some anti-CC vibes over the next 6 weeks!!
Bring on the strappy summer tops for the rest of you!!! Get em out for me you buxom lot!!
xx
