Re-op dilemma
Hi girls,
Been so busy so not been posting much but thought I'd update on my progress - I'm 3 months PO now.
So to recap, my right boob never dropped enough (despite religious strap-wearing, massage etc) so my surgeon said he would keep an eye on me. When I saw him last week for a check he agreed it was too high and said he could easily move it down and it would be a really simple procedure and was I up for it? So I said yes, and he asked me to ring his secretary to book me in - no mention of paying extra or anything which was a relief - anyway I called and they said they could do it tomorrow but I've got flu so am going to wait a bit till I book.
Which brings me to my dilemma - I'm quite keen on the idea of going up a size or so at the same time (I had 225s and am now a 32B/C). But I feel really awkward and embarrassed about asking him, as he was so nice about the re-op and I've only just had my implants put in 3 months ago. Just kind of worried he'll think I'm just a daft girl who can't make her mind up..
I've drafted an email asking his opinion but am not sure if I should send it as I'm not sure if I'm being a bit silly, perhaps I should just be pleased with the boobies as they are? I do like them so maybe I'm just being greedy! Ordinarily I wouldn't consider a re-op to go bigger but I just thought as I'm having an anaesthetic, recovery etc anyway, it might be a good opportunity as I could definitely get away with a bit more boobage...
Sorry if this is a bit rambly but am in such a quandry here (not even sure if he'll let me go bigger anyway due to thin skin, post-breastfeeding etc)
Be good to hear what anyone thinks xx

Re: Re-op dilemma
Hi LMT :allo:
Sorry to hear you're having a bit of trouble. I suppose the first thing to do would be to see how much it would cost to have larger implants. I guess you'd have to pay for new implants even if the rest of the costs could be covered as part of your aftercare for correcting the high boob.

Re: Re-op dilemma
Hi LMT!!
Good to hear from you!!!
Sorry to hear you have not setled as expected, good you are taking steps to rectify, I would do the same, also, if I felt the need to go for larger implant, I would certainly do it now, better than three ops. and always wondering why you did'ent at the time of re-op
At least if you ask, I think you will feel better about whatever the decision is, I would imagine you would bear the cost, which would not be great in comparison to not being content with what you have. But, to me it would be worth it to be happy. I guess I would also feel as you do about asking, but, I would, as I would need to know, I at least attempted to get what I felt was best for me.
All the best, keep in touch xx

Hello, good to hear from you, glad your ok
I think you would have to pay for the implants, but i think if thats what you want, you should definatley ask, they wont think your silly. Most girls want to go bigger after. what have you got to loose? Go for it! xx

Re: Re-op dilemma
I agree, you are better off asking now rather than waiting until after the op and wishing you'd asked, i think you would have to pay though because moving the implant is relatively easy compared to removing them and re-inserting two new ones x x

Hiya LMT great to hear from you :allo: dont feel embarassed about asking to go up a size thats what he's there for, I asked my ps about going down a size while having my reop and he gave me his professional opinion on it.
You would have to pay for new implants (which are around £1000) and you would have Nagor too i'm presuming if you went up a size x

Re: Re-op dilemma
Hi LMT!
Good to see you back on here and sorry to here about your revision. Hope you enjoyed the summer hols with your children, weather not too bad in the end ay.
I think you should chat to him, as you know he is a very approachable, kind man. I think if you didnt express your wishes you will live with regret.
But I would of thought there would be costs involved. He said it was a 'simple procedure' and could easily move the right down. But you would be asking for larger implants therefore another BA, a re-op.
I would email him or ask to meet with him again. He won't think you are being silly or indecisive but would rather you be totally happy with your boobies.
Good luck xxxxxx :ghug:

Re: Re-op dilemma
Thanks girls. it's good to hear some sound advice as you do start to wonder if you are just being a bit obsessed with your boobs, size etc!
I will bring it up with him next week, going to be a big brave girl and go for it, tho I am thinking that I don't think I could afford to go bigger anyway the way my finances are right now!
Nads, bit confused re Nagor - what does that mean plse?
Thanks, hope everyone's boobies are behaving themselves and nads you are getting close to an answer from the hospital...x

So if you were to go up a size you would probably have Nagor implants put in :dunno: best to ask SW about it.
Thanks hun, still waiting to hear back x
Re: Re-op dilemma
Hi LMT - am so sorry to read your thread as i do think of how you are doing as you live so close to me and so pleased I read this page as i usually only go onto BA page. I would definately ask for slightly bigger as I was the same as you and I had 265 Sebbin ones and I am a spot on C (although I just got some Matalan sports white bras at the weekend and got B and C and they both fit - but am certainly a good fit in a C). I only wanted to be a B originally due to my age and did not want to be too big but am really thankful that I am a C but if I was younger like you I would have gone slightly up on that but I dont think you would regret having the 265 AT ALL - just gives you a bit more fullness and think you would be really happy with those knowing your history. No harm in asking whatsoever cos even if he says no or it will cost more - at least you will not beat yourself up for not answering at all and he may well say yes. I thought the implants were only £500 ?? PM if you like but I think you should have the confindence to ask as you have such a nice surgeon and then it will all be over and done at the same time - good luck and thinking of you ... I really dont think you will regret it hun. Love to you X

Re: Re-op dilemma
Thanks everyone, well I've just sent the email so I will keep you posted! Don't know why I was so nervous sending it but I know at least now I've asked and the worst he can say is no (and I will still be happy with my boobs as they are SO much better than before..)
Not looking forward to a re-op at all but hey ho got to be done

Good luck with it all LMT! theres no harm in asking if thats what you want, otherwise you may regret it once you have your re op. Just worth bearing in mind what nads said about the cost and change of implants.

Re: Re-op dilemma
Hi, just spoke to Mr Withey this afternoon - he was very easy to chat to about it, and said it would be a good time to change implant size at the same time, if I wanted to - he recommended 240 or 265 round implants as he explained that altering the pocket for another anatomical implant would increase the chances of rotation.
Being a diz I forgot to ask about price and also whether they would be Nagor implants - so I've left a message for his secretary to call me back. Not sure at this mo if I'd have the money and still unsure about what to do, just got to wait on the price and have a good think about whether I do want to go a bit bigger.
Not really looking forward to a re-op but as I've got to do it anyway think having a little size boost might make it a bit more worthwhile if that makes any sense (and I did go quite small last time). SW said the 265 would be the one to go for as the 240 is only a marginal difference...
So pleased I asked tho as even if I don't go ahead with the size change I would have always regretted not asking. Keep you posted!

Good for you for having the courage to ask him - good luck and I am sure you will be very happy and not regret if you do go for the 265 - you really will look great.

Re: Re-op dilemma
Still waiting for mybreast to get back to me with a price as his secretary and him don't deal with the financial side - bit anxious now as I have no idea how much it will be. Think I need to know soon as if I do want to go slightly bigger I don't want to set my heart on it if it's going to be really expensive...
Also I do like the shape of my anatomicals so hope that rounds will suit me too. Think it might be an idea to go up and see him again if I do decide to go ahead with 265's.
Decisions, decisions, thought my sizing stress was supposed to be finished last May!

Re: Re-op dilemma
Well finally got a date for my re-op from Mybreast - Nov 27th as a day case (apparently there is a 6 month cut-off point for revision surgery for anything apart from CC, which wd be 2 days later).
They are checking the price difference between Allergan and Nagor implants as there can be up to £500 difference.
Just wondered if anyone knows the dimensions of 265 round Allergan Inspiras, as I can't seem to find the Allergan catalogue now? (eg projection etc.)
By the way think the site is looking great!
