How much time did you all take off work?

I have a deskjob, will 1 week be enough?

I get so bored when I am at home (alone). I just know I will be climbing the walls with boredom!

Im a full time mummy which is different & took longer than a week before i could do everything. But i should think 1 week is plenty of time to get back to a desk job :) x

I took two weeks off, on account of the fact I have an hours commute on the tube, so I didn't want to get crushed.

Hiya, im a full time mummy too. After my first BA my hubby took 2 weeks off but he could have gone back after 1 week really. The only thing i strugled with was lifting my youngest who was 7 months then. I was just REALLY careful! If you have adesk job i would say 1 week will be enough. What day is your op on? Do you have a weekend on top of your week off, just gives you a couple more days??

Everyone is different hun so its hard to say xx

I have a desk job too and I had 2 weeks off work, and I'm glad I did. I didn't have much pain just a bit of discomfort, but I didn't feel up to going back after just a week.

Everyone's different though, so it might be best to book 2 weeks off to be on the safe side and then if you feel up to it go back to work after a week.

Have you told your boss about ba or are you keeping it secret?

I've told them that it will happen, I was late one morning because of a consult :S
so I kinda felt I should.
It is also quite difficult to get time off when you want it to, so hopefully it will help with that....(they were a bit embaressed, two guys  )so hopefully they won't give me too much trouble with getting the time off

Ahh, poor blokes.

I'd take two weeks off, but let them know that you might be able to be in after a week, depending on pain levels etc

It seems to be so different for everyone!

A lot of girls seem to come back and not be in any real pain...whereas I was in loads of pain on day 2 and 3 especially, then pretty much fine after that, just a bit bruised and stiff.

I am a self-employed body piercer, and I was in the process of setting up a new shop. I started going in just for a couple of hours a day after 4 days, only very light work though, no customers, just getting things ready. Then I opened the shop officially when I was 10 days PO :)

I took one week off, so I went back on Day 9, I was fine, no problems at all! Just got the train instead of driving.
